Dear all
Thank you to everyone who attended our community meeting in November to discuss Wikimedia UK's strategy for 2022 - 2025. My blog post about the meeting, summarising the input from participants, is here https://wikimedia.org.uk/2021/11/talking-strategy-with-wikimedia-uks-community/ .
Wikimedia UK's *draft strategic framework for 2022 - 2025 https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pB8FeM5o2gCpbiQevVn5MxOljuC_6HatAZyKUTFqwDY/edit* is now open for comments until 8th December.
Do feel free to either add comments or questions directly to the document, or to add your feedback on wiki https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Strategy_meeting_2022-2025.
Please note that this draft is being shared with the community at the same time as the staff and board of the Chapter. Nothing is written in stone and your comments will be taken on board; although I am unlikely to be able to incorporate all feedback into the final draft. Please also note that this currently just includes the headline aims for the three strategic themes which have been identified. It doesn't include the work that we will be prioritising under our five strategic pillars (including volunteer and community engagement). Annual objectives and specific activities/outputs for these pillars will be identified through our more detailed annual delivery planning.
I would be particularly keen to hear your thoughts on the following:
1. What's missing from the draft strategy from your perspective?
2. To what extent do you agree with the three proposed strategic themes:
-
Knowledge Equity -
Information Literacy -
Climate Crisis
3. To what extent do you agree with the five strategic pillars:
- Equity, diversity and inclusion embedded across the organisation - A thriving national and international community - Public profile and recognition of the organisation and Wikimedia projects - A positive legislative environment - Organisational resilience and sustainability
With many thanks in advance for your feedback and input.
Lucy
