I think the question of the very low conversion rate of editathon editors
into regular editors is a well-studied problem. We know from similar
efforts in other countries that effectively persuading people to take up a
new hobby with all its time commitments is not an easy job, and getting a
rate as high as 5% is considered hugely successful. I know from the UK
Monthly report that Toni is collecting statistics and looking at ways of
following up to encourage the conversion, so I'm hopeful we can learn ways
of nurturing our contacts and help create new editors.
