When is the next UK wikimeet?
As far as I'm aware there is no wikimeet scheduled. There probably should be and if your diary for the summer looks anything like mine it's not going to be easy to find a suitable date.
The general plan is to organise a meet once we are in a position to admit members, not least because it will be easier to do this face to face then via a series of emails, paper forms and other bureaucracy zipping about the country. It's worth remembering that WER does not exist to organise wikimeets. However, I would not object to temporarily removing my directors hat to assist in organising one, as long as people do not object to me regaining my headgear and attempting to find members and voluntaries willing to help with some of the projects once they arrive at the meet.

Thanks Gordon,
It occurs to me that we need to have an AGM at some stage, in which we will have to elect a (non-temporary) board of directors (same-as-now if desired). When will this be? Is there a need for anything in place before this happens?
IIRC, the first AGM has to be within 18 months of the date of incorporation, and AGM's then follow each calender year and within 14 months. Clearly we are going to need members before we have an AGM and I think we would also like some successes to report. As far as membership goes, I circulated a plan to the other directors a couple of weeks ago - I'm still waiting to find out they think it's workable.
This reminds me of another question I had: what's the current update on our bid for charity status? Has this happened? What can a volunteer do, if it hasn't?
Last I knew James had almost finished the form.
Another occurrence: Wikimania is coming up next month. Some of us will be there (myself included) and I know that some committees/chapters will be using that opportunity to hold non-online meetings about their business. It would definitely be an idea to mull over such things informally, possibly even start organising things like projects.. So, who amongst us will be at Wikimania?
I'll not be there - but it would be good if some project organisation could be done.
And on projects: are there any initiatives that anyone wants to get going, or would like to see going? Meta pages have hit a stagnancy, sadly - this one could do with one of its regular revivals: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Possible_projects_of_Wikimedia_UK. Any other ideas floating around? Want to bring them down to earth?
It may be worth building something around the 2012 Olympics. I'm not sure what though - get local schools to run pupil projects on each sport maybe?
Cheers,
Andrew
