Hi all
If you haven't signed up for the Annual General Meeting, which will be held online on Saturday 18th July, please do so on Eventbrite here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/wikimedia-uk-2020-agm-tickets-105946892006. You don't have to be a member to attend, but only members are entitled to vote.
Nominations for Wikimedia UK's board of trustees are now open. There are three vacancies at this year's AGM, with two existing trustees standing for reelection. If you wish to stand for the board, please submit a Candidate Statement https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/2020_Annual_General_Meeting/Candidate_Statements by 6pm on 3rd July 2020. Statements are to be sent to me (Katie) via this email address. You must be a member https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Membership of Wikimedia UK to stand for the board and you must have joined as a member by Monday 29th June.
Members can propose and second candidates for the board, but it is not a requirement for candidates to have a proposer or a seconder, as self-nomination is sufficient.
If you would like an informal conversation about standing for the board prior to submitting your candidacy, please let me know and I'll set up a call with Lucy Crompton-Reid, Wikimedia UK's Chief Executive.
As all voting for this year's elections will be done by proxy - the deadline for which is 48 hours before the start of the AGM - I wanted to highlight the opportunity for members to ask candidates questions either by editing this page https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/2020_Annual_General_Meeting/Candidate_Questions or by sending them to me to add to the page on your behalf.
Many thanks
Katie
