Hello all!
I thought I'd send you a quick note to introduce myself, as I've just started work as Wikimedia UK's communications coordinator this week. I'll be helping to get WMUK's work noticed, improve its branding, create content and help build its relationships with volunteers and partner organisations.
Before taking up the role, I was a freelance journalist and filmmaker working in London and Turkey, a community organiser on a South London housing estate, a researcher for a number of different human rights organisations and an English as a foreign language teacher in France and Spain.
I have edited occasionally in the past and volunteered during Wikimania London 2014, so I am familiar with WMUK's work and some of its staff. It will be a real honour to work with them and you on improving a set of educational projects which to me are one of the most vital and significant achievements of our digital age.
All the best,
John Lubbock Communications Coordinator Wikimedia UK
