Hi all
We've done a series of interviews with some great women who are closing the
gender gap on Wikipedia and its sister projects for Women's History Month.
They'll be released every Monday in March at 4pm on our YouTube.
First up is Kira Wisniewski, Executive Director at Art+Feminism, going live
here <https://youtu.be/F4DQnwnFrqM>. Then we'll have Rebecca O'Neill from
Wikimedia Community Ireland, Victoria Leonard from the Women's Classics
Committee, Alice White our Wikimedian in Residence at the Wellcome Trust,
and finally Lucy to round up the month and Wikimedia UK's activities.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend in the sunshine.
Best wishes
Katie

Good morning all,
I recently sent out the annual Community Leaders survey (which some of you
might know as the Volunteer survey). It's gone to all those we have listed
as leading volunteers (people who've run events, those who've supported
office work, done public speaking on behalf of WMUK, etc) and lead contacts
at partner organisations. If you think that you should have received this
but haven't, please reply off-list to me and I'll send it on.
Many thanks,
Sara

Dear all
I hope you are keeping well during these strange, and seemingly
interminable times...
As I'm sure some of you will have already seen, the Wikimedia Foundation
has published a call for feedback about the process for promoting and
choosing community candidates for their board of trustees:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_Board_of_Trustees/Call…
There are several ways to participate in the call, as follows:
- Discuss in the Talk page for each idea, or in this talk page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Wikimedia_Foundation_Board_of_Trustees…>
for
general comments
- Discuss in the Telegram group chat <https://t.me/wmboardgovernancechat>
created for this call for feedback
- Join a conversation or an online meeting
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Wikimedia_Foundation_Boa…>
near
you
I'm emailing you all firstly to make sure that you are all aware of the
call for feedback, but secondly to gauge the level of interest in
organising an online call about this, either at a UK or English Wikipedia
level (or indeed, for another relevant community). If you would personally
be interested in attending such a meeting, please do let me know.
Otherwise, I would encourage those of you with ideas about this to
contribute to one of the channels outlined above.
With best wishes
Lucy
