Hello Wikimedians,
I've been working on this video about the gender gap issue for some time
and finally published it this morning. I hope that you will find it
interesting and help to share it on social media so it reaches a wide
audience. I think it shows how much work our community has put into
addressing the gender gap over the last 4 years.

The Cambridge meetup is back, with a new venue:
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Meetup/Cambridge/42
Those not very familiar with Cambridge should note that Mill Road, where we'll be, is in a different area of Cambridge from Mill Lane, where we have been meeting. Relevant Record is out of the centre, and in fact close to the new mosque, which is well worth a look.
We're also starting at 2pm to take advantage of the brunch that continues until 3. The place is a café with a vinyl record shop in the basement.
I hope to see some of you there. We know that 42 is the answer, so we might be asking what is the question.

Hello Wikimedians, I'm thinking about holding an election night editathon
at Newspeak House in London on Thursday 12 December. We did one there last
election and it was quite good fun to make draft articles on people who
were likely to become MPs in anticipation of the results (which don't
usually start coming in until after midnight). I imagine there will be a
larger gathering of people at Newspeak, because it's a centre for lots of
other political and tech groups on occasions like that, but I wanted to let
the mailing list know and ask people to tell me if they would be
theoretically interested in participating.
All the best,
John Lubbock

Dear all
I'm writing to let you know that our Communications Co-ordinator John Lubbock
will be leaving Wikimedia UK at the end of January next year. I'd like to
thank John for all his excellent work for the charity in the (nearly) four
years since he joined us, and to wish him all the best in his future
endeavours. John is likely to continue supporting several ongoing Wikimedia
projects as a volunteer and will remain a valued part of our community
going forward.
Hopefully there will be an opportunity for some of you to see John in
person before he leaves, and I'm sure he'll be in touch himself over the
next couple of months.
Best wishes
Lucy
