Hello everyone,
I hope you're all having a lovely Thursday.
As you may have noticed, Wikimedia Commons has reached the remarkable
landmark of 15 million files donated. This is an amazing achievement. What
I'm looking for, then, is someone who regularly contributes to Commons and
would be keen to write a guest blog wor Wikimedia UK about this, telling us
a little about how you got involved in the project and why you value it. It
doesn't have to be long, and it doesn't have to be detailed. I can support
you through the process if needed.
Any takers? There may be chocolate in it for you.
Thanks,
Stevie

Just saw the results of the Wiki Loves Monuments and the photos are
stunning.
One of them however is of an Argentinian war grave in the Falklands but the
description could be interpreted as claiming the Malvinas are Argentinian.
Better get a spokesman lined up with a suitable statement.

On Wednesday 12th December Wikimedia UK is hosting a "bring some food"
lunch in the office. It starts at 1pm and volunteers are welcome to
come along with something to eat, meet the staff, and marvel at our
Christmas tree. If you've not visited the office before directions are
available at http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Office#Directions (I found
them useful on my first day).
