Hi guys,
In as much as we are all volunteers for PWMGH some of us have additional duties to keep the group afloat.
Rex is the coordinator, Ato advices, Oral does PR, I manage the group and its operations. The roles assigned gives people clear cut ways they are assisting the group.
Enock Nyamador is the only freshman past his 100 edit mark and also participates in almost every task assigned. I think he will make a great exec. He has been promoted as an assistant operations manager/volunteer.
Regards,
Sandister Tei

A new article for Daily Guide newspaper is now available. I started it. I realised there is another newspaper from the US called The Daily Guide that had been wrongly linked from the list of newspapers in Ghana. I have rectified that now.
I have posted the link on our social media : Fb, Twitter & Blogger to inform the general public.
Rex kindly put it on G+ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Guide_(Ghana)

We usually reach out to new recruits and members in this mailing list for all our activities but our work is to reach out to every Ghanaian capable of editing Wikipedia and promoting WMF in some way. I believe new recruits have been coached enough and our attention should go back to the general public.
Earlier in projects like Wiki for Election 2012, edits would come from the general public who were not even members of PWMGH. We reached them via social media. The focus is going back to them however so from today, visit our social pages: Blog, Facebook, Twitter, G+ for updates on the group, our activities and opportunities. Unless the announcement is private, I will make them there so the general public can benefit.
Please note that the first three social pages are crucial as more Ghanaians are used to those platforms.
Those that submitted the proposals will hear from me.
Regards,
Sandister Tei

During our online meeting we agreed that you will send proposals on how we can reach some of our outreach goals.
Enock sent some suggestions so he is welcome to join Rex, Ato, Oral and I to draw a proper proposal on WLM and also Cookbook which is part of our outreach bid.

Hello Maguerite,
My name is Sandister Tei and I am member of Blogging Ghana and Planning Wikimedia Ghana (We promote Wikipedia in Ghana).
You were introduced via Blogging Ghana's mailing list and I have two interests concerning Hello Food. I want to blog about your service on Tei Ink Press which is also featured on Google Currents. I have positioned it as a business and technology magazine and Hello Food does have my interest.
Secondly, Planning Wikimedia Ghana has a project to support Cookbook which is one of the wikis of Wikimedia Foundation. Our work is to contribute recipes and media (images etc) to the Cookbook. If your food includes those that are native to Ghana we could work out a possible collaboration to gather images and recipes from you.
Hoping to hear from you.
Regards,
Sandister Tei

Hello guys,
Edits
A new member Raphael Berchie recruited at BarCamp Accra has about 85 edits now on Wikipedia. I think he has done very well judging from the average edits we have as a group.
Enock has 195 edits
Sandister (me) has 243 edits
Rexford has 703 edits.
If I have failed to acknowledge anyone with over 50 edits and has edited in the last two months, please draw my attention.
But boys, know that I will not let you pass me, I am aiming at 500 edits this week :D If you had worked this hard earlier like we would all be heading for HongKong this August.
Well done guys now we have 4 active editors and about 16 more to comfortably continue our bid for chaptership.
Cookbook
As part of the outreach, we have to gather photos for Cookbook which features very little Ghanaian food: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Table_of_Contents. The idea is to start a social media campaign to get people to take photos of their food and donate them to Wikimedia commons via the Wikimedia Commons app or website.
Wiki Loves Monuments
This September the world's biggest photo contest is coming on. Ghana gets to be a part if we organise properly and we can even get funding if our activities will require that. As usual, social media will help us greatly to gather people to participate.
I am inviting every one to an online meeting on Facebook since the majority of us are there, and internet cost and reliability will not permit us all a G+ hangout.
RSVP to join the group chat here https://www.facebook.com/events/271942942949777/But please note that you will have to join our Wikipedia group on Facebook to be able join the group chat so join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/243782009088573/
Let me know if the meeting date is good for you so we can agree on a time.
Regards,
Sandister Tei
