For a long time Barcamp has given this community the best of members
through people recruited through small breakout sessions.
What if the entire Barcamp was dedicated to Wikipedia/Wikimedia?
I am suggesting that the user group organises a Barcamp focused on the
community.
I was at Barcamp Ashesi and I saw the possibility of affiliate Barcamps.
This Barcamp will headline Wikipedia but will definitely have sessions
focusing on sister wikis etc. And will spread to other parts of the country
as well depending on the success of the one in Accra.
A grant page will be set up to start the organisation. Please don't
hesitate to comment. It's for the group, it's in your name.
List your name here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants_talk:Project/Rapid/Barcamp_Wikipedia…>
if you want to join the organisation.
Regards,

Anthony, Jaward and co please move the report on BC Kumasi to our activity

.
Please give the recruits an option to join mailing list and if they want,
the Whatsapp group.
I can assist with any of these. Just ask.

Hello all,
Barcamp Kumasi is a networking forum bringing people together for a day of
learning, sharing, networking and mentoring.
The event was held at SSNIT Auditorium on the theme "Professionalism, a key
to productivity".
The breakout session was lead by Noah Alorwu, Addae Anthony and Mohammed
Jawad. We talked about the Wikimedia Ghana User Group and what we do.
We had 10 participants who showed interest in contributing to local
contents on Wikipedia and Commons
We have their email addresses and phone numbers. Anthony Addae will compile
the list and share with the group
*Here are few things we discussed*
1. Why and how to join the user group.
2. How to create a wikipedia account
3. How to edit an article
4. Some Do's and Don'ts
5. Edit-a-thons
6. Wiki Loves Monuments
7. Wiki Loves Women
8. Wiki Indaba and Wikimedia sister projects
At the end it was very educative, interactive and the participants are
willing to learn more and more.
Regards

Wow,
I read from his tagline that he is a profile builder at Wikipedia. We may
need to contact him and share with him the policies. Going forward I think
all editors in good standing can share the press release on their walls on
Facebook and tweet it to as well.
Lastly the training about paid editing is also in the right place. Both
community members and Wikipedia enthusiasts can attend to know more about
WMF's policies and guidelines.

I think moving forward we can have a public discussion at Impact Hub to
discuss paid editing. We can invite the entire public and members to learn.
I will put this on our calendar.
Also Justice can you share your contacts with Berchie?
