Currently, I think there is no easy way to translate the extensions of
MediaWiki into other languages. I suggest to create a hook, or something
like that, in the end of every messages list in every languages (named
"addMessages", "addMessagesDe", etc.), and to add their returned value
to the array. The extensions will add functions like
"MakeSysopMessages", "MakeSysopMessagesDe", etc., to these hooks. Is it
possible?

Brion apparently added feed support for page history via Bug 472 and
r14428, but now there's the message "history-feed-item-nocomment". It
contains only the text "$1 at $2", which makes no sense out of context,
when you're translating into a language like Vietnamese. I played around
with the history feeds, but I couldn't find the string. Is "$2" a
location, time, or file size?

Hello,
Apart from Monsters winning the song contest, no monstrous changes
this week. Polish, Swedish, French and Italian got bigger updates and
many other languages smaller updates. Many changes were made to
Messages.php to keep you busy on this week too :). Statistics and
list of problems at [1] and [2] has been updated.
List of ignored messages got some additions. Currently it has the
following messges:
'sidebar', // contains help
'googlesearch',
'linktrail',
'linkprefix',
'sitetitle',
'sitesubtitle',
'sitenotice',
'anonnotice',
'loginend',

'history_copyright',
'shareddescriptionfollows',
'randompage-url',

'metadata-fields', // Objected, contains help
'catseparator',
'signupend',
'newarticletextanon',
'talkpagetext',
'noarticletextanon',
#'edittools', // Objected, not on the list
This list is also at [3].

Hi!
I think will be useful to make next changes in Messages.php.
Help -> {{ns:help}}:
helppage

What does it mean?)

Hi!
Is it possible to account localized magic words in system messages
when viewing arbitrary wiki (most interesting is Commons) with adding
?uselang=<code> to address?
Or only English magic words could be used in system messages?
I played with Commons, and Belarusian PLURAL function is selected
properly, but I need to change МНОЖНЫ_ЛІК to PLURAL (and other magic
words too) in MessagesBe.php.
Thank you for comments,
Eugene.
Hi!
Could somebody who have permissions to change server configuration
take a look on http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5927? We
need to translate SITENAME and properly update messages on Belarusian
Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikiquote.
Thank you,
Eugene.
Hi!
This is list of messages in Messages.php which still contains
hardcoded Project which should be replaced with {{ns:Project}}:
portal-url
aboutpage
bugreportspage
sitesupport-url
faqpage
disclaimerpage
privacypage
protectedtext
blockedtext
newarticletext
protectedpagewarning
searchresulttext
copyrightpage
confirmdeletetext
protectlogtext
protect-text
blockiptext
With best regards,
Eugene.
Hi!
I think will be useful to change Project to {{ns:Project}} in
Messages.php in next messages:
grouppage-bot
grouppage-bureaucrat
grouppage-sysop
With best regards,
Eugene.
Hi!
PLURAL is used incorrectly in 'categories' message
('{{PLURAL:$1|Category|Categories}}'). For Belarusian/Russian
languages this message should not take in account actual number. Just
as in English single and plural form:
For one category: Катэгорыя/Категория
For many categories: Катэгорыі/Категории.
This message is used as title of Special:Categories where second form
must be used. Belarusian/Russain plural function without arguments
will return 3 incorrect argument: Катэгорый/Категорий.
I think best solution is to split this message to Category/Categories messages.
With best regards,
Eugene.
