Dear all, just a brief update n this one. Sorry it took me so long — my private life kept me too busy. So far I contacted two experts, one of them a native speaker who wrote a reference grammar n Jambi Malay. Both experts agree that the random page they checked read mor like "jambinized Indonesian", that is Bahaa Indonesia interspersed with a few emblematic Jambi words. They want to consult a few other native peakers and look at more paes, but it doe not look like this Project is ready for approval.
As for the Batak Project: I'm still trying to find an expert. I'll keep you updated on both issues.
