Western Balochi

Hi, I received a few requests to check the status of Western Balochi incubator (bgn). The code bgn is legit, the translation of most-used messages is complete, and the activity in the incubator is reasonable. A lot of pages are written; many are just one or two lines long, but I don't think that I mind. a language code for Simple English

Hi, A question for the respected language code experts in the audience. Apparently, the Simple English Wikipedia uses "en" as its language code in the HTML lang attribute, etc. I never noticed it until recently, when it started causing various bugs with the ContentTranslation extension of which I am a developer. I somehow assumed that it uses something like "en-simple" without ever checking it, and that assumption was wrong - it's just "en". I believe that the code should be different from what is used by the English Wikipedia, like it is with other wikis in language variants, such as be-tarask. Do you have any suggestions about what code should it be? en-simple? en-x-simple? Something else? Should I register anything new with any standards organization? (If I recall correctly, this was done for be-tarask?) Can I reuse any existing code that would be appropriate? Is it a bad idea in general and it should be just "en"? Thanks! Western Punjabi Wikiquote approval

Hi, I met an editor of Western Punjabi Wikipedia and Wikiquote at Wikimania. Wikiquote is still in incubator. He asked what needs to be done for the project to get out of the incubator. The incubator and the localization activity appear to be OK. Does anybody object to giving it a domain? Neapolitan wikisource

I want to bring to the attention of the Langcom that there is an application for a neapolitan wikisource <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikisource_Neapo…> pending evaluation since 2011. The status of the neapolitan wikisource project is as follows: - More than 2500 proofread pages - Three or more contributors during the last 8 months - Two or more contributors working intensively during more than 1 year - Core localisation complete, proofread complete, extensions at 30% and growing - Third biggest language in mul.wikisource by number of pages and growing - First language in mul.wikisource with a request on hold - Iso code and long-term running wikipedia We need the project to be activated: - We'll provide better tools within our own language domain - We'll provide better access to our native speakers and literates - It is a minority language and time passes while the speaking population gets older (and the contributors too) - We'll provide easy access to the humanity to the public domain in our language. This is now simply getting diluted into mul.wikisource, it.wikisource or en.wikisource, just as our books and songs are diluted and lost into the libraries of all over the world. If approved and opened tomorrow it would be already more active and big than many other open wikisources. Languages that are Arabic

Hoi, At the time we accepted Egyptian, there was quite some ruckus because it was considered politically incorrect to accept this. Now that we have a request for "Algerian Arabic", it is prudent to ask what our position is. I am all in favour by the way.. Thanks, Gerard
