Hoi, We have NEVER stated anything about the way localisations are done.. We just need them done.
If you pay someone to localise the messages, consider what functionality is important to your editors... You may want to edit things outside of the magical 500.. It would make sense when a new list of messages is compiled anyway.,. Thanks, Gerard

Thanks for the input!
This is purely hypothetical at this point, but what would you think if we were to hire someone (on a short-term basis, of course) to do the translations of core messages? Would that diminish a request in any way?

I agree with Gerard.
I wish you success on the new position [it will be hard ;) ], and success to the projects.

Hi, all!
I am the president of Wikimedia Norge now, and we have a project idea to create Wikipedias in Kven [fkv] (5000 speakers in Norway), Southern Sami [sma] (600 speakers in Norway and Sweden) and Lule Sami [smj] (2000
speakers
in Norway and Sweden). I am not suggesting to bypass the Incubator or translation requirements or anything, but I need your input before we
start:
Do you think these languages are viable/"big" enough to warrant their
own
Wikipedias?
