There's nothing really exciting within walking distance from BART at Dublin/Pleasanton if that's what you mean. It would be more like a BART and short bus ride. Honestly, I've never done a meetup so I'm not familiar with the protocol, formality, or what usually occurs during a meetup. Does a restaurant work since the proposed date is a Thursday evening? There's the Hopyard (http://www.hopyard.com Wheels #8 bus from BART) or the #10 bus gets a person to downtown Pleasanton with the pleasant Main St. atmosphere and numerous other restaurants.

According to Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Bay_(San_Francisco_Bay_Area) ) the East Bay does include Pleasanton. That being said, if you've got a suggestion for somewhere to meet that is near BART in Pleasanton/Dublin, then by all means, speak up.

Does Pleasanton work? We have BART and we're not scary.
Hi all,
A meetup in Pleasanton sounds great - that's my town, and I am just catching up on the lists and will be back from traveling on 3/30. I have a blog on eating/drinking places in Pleasanton <http://eatinginpleasanton.com
and might be able to make some suggestions, anything from
restaurants to bars and cafes and public places. As Stacey mentioned we have a lovely old-style Main St. with lot of places to meet.
