Just a quick note to say thanks to Phoebe and Eugene and Jay and Jon and
everyone else who contributed to the 10th celebrations on Saturday! (I know
I'm missing lots of people who worked on the conference and the party:
please forgive me; I'm grateful to you all :-)
It was all really fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Great to see
Ward and other old friends, and it's always nice to meet new ones too.
Thanks for making it such a great event!

We (the SF group) have actually talked about doing before, we just wanted to
have a dry run for it first. That dry run just so happens to be today and
is the West Coast Wikiconference [1].
Seeing is how this "little" shindig oversold by 30% or so, and was really
done in a month by Phoebe & Eugene, I think we could do a Wikimania

Hi folks - I have a reporter from the SJ Merc who would like to chat with a bay area wikipedian, preferably one near south-bay, but not critical. Reach out to me if you're keen and comfortable with this.
Thanks!

Hi!
I'm interesting in Saturday WikiConference ride/parking share. I'm
living in San Jose, but any place to meet not far from freeways to San
Francisco is fine for me.
Please reply privately to avoid littering mailing list :-)
Eugene.
Hi!
Wow... the West Coast WikiConference is full! Thanks everyone for your support.
There is a waitlist feature at http://wcwc2011.eventbrite.com/ -- if
you want to attend please add yourself to that. Conversely, if you're
NOT coming but you already registered you can get a refund, just let
me know so that someone else can have your spot.
Any other questions please contact me :) And we are still looking for
morning and daytime volunteers...
cheers,
phoebe

Dear Wikimedia-SF,
I'm so excited about the West Coast WikiConference happening this weekend,
January 15! We are very pleased to have two fabulous speakers lined up:
Ward Cunningham, inventor of the wiki, and Kevin Kelly, co-founder of
"Wired" magazine. We plan a day-long event of speakers and open space
sessions, followed by a special birthday party for Wikipedia hosted by the
Wikimedia Foundation (offsite at GAFFTA).
The conference is filling up quickly -- we are at over 2/3 of our absolute
maximum capacity for the venue! THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS THIS WEDNESDAY.
You can register on Eventbrite: http://wcwc2011.eventbrite.com
If you are planning to come, please register ASAP so we can plan the food
etc. There is also a scholarship for current project contributors who can't
afford the ticket; please let me know (by sending your situation and your
username) if you are interested in this.
Additionally, we are looking for on-site volunteers to help with
registration etc. Let me know directly at phoebe.ayers(a)gmail.com if you can
help.
Thanks!
Phoebe
