We have a time set for an edit-a-thon in Berkeley from 12:30 - 5:00 at
the Berkeley Public Library. I will try to do additional publicity, but
there is a web page:
(Thanks for Shreyas Patankar!)
I'm not a master editor, so I'd like to know if we have someone who
would be comfortable providing an intro to WP editing at the 12:30 time
slot. I'm also looking around for handouts, cheat sheets, etc. on
editing that we could have available. (I'm happy to do the copying for
Before the day I'd like to identify a few topics or pages that we can
suggest for attendees who don't come with their own agenda.
Hi all -
Just a heads up, but I will probably be hosting a philosophy-oriented
editathon on UC Berkeley's campus at some point during the coming few
months. The focus will definitely be philosophy, and likely
under-represented areas of philosophy. Although the audience will
primarily be internal (aka the philosophy department,) I'd definitely love
it if any other Wikipedians who felt like it turned up as well :)
Although normally wifi access on Berkeley's campus is restricted to campus
affiliates, I should be able to arrange guest IDs for non-affiliates to
have internet during the event. I'll send out another email with more
details as soon as I figure out more details.
I've taken up the organizer role for the Berkeley Wikipedia meet-up
group. I'll do some figuring out on how to use Meetup. Would the person
who volunteered to find a space on UC campus please contact me?
I presume that we are aiming at a September first meeting, given how
summer seems to disrupt schedules.
If we can't find other meet-up places, my home has wifi, various
computers and screens, networked printing, and a fridge. We can try a
meeting here, if it's not a large one.
