Happy New Year everyone!
We're back on the third saturday of January (Jan 21 - 11am-2pm 272 Capp street) for a Wikipedians meetup and potluck. We usually bring a big box of donuts, along with tea and coffee!
Please let us know on Meetup if you are coming:

We typically do a round of introductions and get to work on our things for a couple hours.
Best,
Emeline
Hi everyone,
The next noisebridge <> wikipedians meetup will be on December 18from 11 am to 2pm, at 272 capp street. We typically do a round of introductions and get to work! We also have a potluck (and if we want to eat something more substanial, there are plenty of options nearby).
The event is here, if you don't mind signing up so we know how many desks to set up.

Also posted on the [bay area wikisalon series page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bay_Area_WikiSalon)! We might move future events to the wikimedia foundation office.
All best,
Emeline
(4th try at sending this, I don’t know when I became so technologically incompetent.)
I’m strongly thinking of coming. If I said for sure I was coming, I wonder if people I haven’t seen in over a decade would show up?

Well, I will probably be in San Francisco around that time, so sure, why not. I don't know what everyone is going to be up to afterwards, but my guess is that we can probably figure something out.

Thanks Emeline for organizing!
I went last time and it was great. Very relaxed, everyone was friendly. People worked on their laptops while there were some general discussions about Wiki tech and community and projects that people were working on.
Looking forward to going again.

Thanks Emeline,
I would love it if you can share a bit more about that experience. Who showed up, what was the vibe of the event?
I'm not sure if I can make it that day but would try another time when I'm back from traveling!

Hi everyone,
We organised a meetup at Noisebridge a couple weeks ago, and were asked if we could make it a regular thing! We'll next meet on November 19 from 11 am to 2pm, at 272 capp street.
The event is here, if you don't mind signing up so we know how many desks to set up.

Hey folks,
As many of you know, Aaron Swartz was a Wikipedia contributor who also thought deeply about the contributor dynamics of the project & was instrumental to the SOPA/PIPA grassroots campaign. [1]
It's been the long time since Aaron Swartz Day happened as an in-person event, but this time it _will_ happen at the Internet Archive, November 12-13.
I'll be there along with members of the SecureDrop team [2], but I hope to also see Wikimedians. It's an awesome way to celebrate Aaron's contributions every year. You can find more about the event here - registration is free via the Eventbrite link on the homepage:
https://www.aaronswartzday.org/
Would be lovely to see some new & familiar faces from the Wikimedia community :). Help getting the word out is appreciated!
Warmly,
Erik

Hi everyone,
A fellow wikipedian and myself are bringing a brunch to noisebridge for all wikipedians who might want to meet up there, this saturday from 11 am to 2pm, at 272 capp street.
The event is here, if you don't mind signing up (this is so we get enough food):

Hullo hullo lovely Bay Area Wikimedians,
Next weekend is Wikimania <https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimania>,
the annual international festival of all things Wikipedia ^_^
Since I didn't see an SF-based event in the calendar
<https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/In-person_events>, I created one for
this Friday 🎉 😄 I'm thinking we could do hackathon stuff in the morning
and workshops and a mixer in the afternoon. If anyone wants to help
organize, please let me know! I'll try to have an event page this
afternoon.
Cheers,
Amanda
Is this going to be virtual ?
