Hi San Francisco WMF folks,
I've wanted to have an Ada Initiative event at the WMF offices for a while, and Ada Lovelace Day is coming up next Tuesday, so it seemed like an obvious match! You are all invited, and this event is open to the public as well.
Please reserve here: http://adalovelacedaysf.eventbrite.com/
Party invite:
You are invited to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with us! Ada Lovelace Day is an international day of raising the profile of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), inspired by Countess Ada Lovelace, the world's first computer programmer.
We're throwing a party in San Francisco so you can meet more women in STEM, get inspired by fascinating women in science, and have a great time!
Ada Lovelace Day San Francisco is co-hosted by the Ada Initiative and the Wikimedia Foundation. The Ada Initiative supports women in open source software, Wikipedia, and similar areas. The Wikimedia Foundation supports the Wikipedia project and other free knowledge projects. Together, we're working to change the culture of open technology and culture to be more welcoming to women.
Most of this event will be mingling and SHORT talks about Ada Lovelace and our work to support women in STEM. If you'd like to write about your favorite woman in STEM for Ada Lovelace Day, you are welcome to bring your laptop and spend a few minutes blogging or improving her article on Wikipedia (we'll help!).
We will provide light snacks and drinks. People of all genders and interests are welcome to attend!

We're looking for a food/drink sponsor - let me know if you have a suggestion for a company that would like to be involved!
