Hi all,
I made an attempt to get this going again by choosing a location this way one does not have to choose between two awesome events. Although some concerns have been risen since then that this could create more trouble than its worth. I just want this to be an event to be enjoyable for as many Wikimedians as possible. Please change the location and or sign up with what you will be bringing.
Looking forward to next Sunday Many were increasingly of the opinion that they'd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. - See more at: http://www.planetclaire.org/quotes/hitchhikers/#sthash.kwzIvUPm.dpuf Many were increasingly of the opinion that they'd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. - See more at: http://www.planetclaire.org/quotes/hitchhikers/#sthash.kwzIvUPm.dpuf
A link would be nice ;-). - kc

Hi Karen,
We are planning here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/San_Francisco/Wiknic/2014
Saehrimnir, I tend to agree that Stern Grove may be too crowded to meet up. Any objection to the Conservatory of Flowers or Alamo Square?

No objections from me -- I'm happy with any location :) For Stern Grove though -- or any location -- we will need to make sure to have a big sign or some other indication that we are the wiknic group, rather than some other random group :)
Thank you very much to Saehrimnir and Stephen for getting this going again. I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday! Phoebe

Conservatory of Flowers tends to be less windy and more amenable to picnics. This sounds great to me.

Considering that Stern Grove is so crowded at concerts that they have a
picnic table lottery ( http://www.sterngrove.org/home/concertsevents/2014-season/festival-informati...) and reading this article about how people show up as early as 5 am to get space ( http://www.ktvu.com/news/entertainment/stern-grove-festival-san-francisco-sy...) it might be better not to try it for the wiknic.
Conservatory of Flowers seems like a fine choice to me!
