Morning.
I hope you have all seen this message below posted?
---- Hello all, we received a message from the Wiki Loves Monuments team via the mailing list some time back.
I think we need to assign local organisation to someone to lead. Anyone here who has desired to lead a Wikimedia project but has never done so before?
Let me know. You don't need any experience, just enthusiasm and time.
What you will do is just follow up on the dates, lead discussions on what we can bring to the project this year, draw up a grant (I will help you), lead publicity etc. -- Regards, Sandister Tei

By 12.36pm on 2 May this post was up.
12.59 pm Usman Ibrahim sent me a direct Whatsapp message that he is interested.
Bright Ayisi at 1.47 pm also said he was interested.
At 3.38 Raphael added his interest.
Some of you are unhappy that your colleagues sent me a DM instead of posting publicly. I have made public the conversation via screengrabs for those being paranoid. Please check the Whatsapp page.
Moving forward, the message said we need to *assign local organisation to someone to lead. *The organiser slot there requests for one person. Per first come first served, I would say Usman. But Bright I added bright anyway.
Now that we have these two, please know that they are leading local organization and they will rally all those who want to do this thing. *This initial stage is just a call for leadership.*
Like the message said their job will be to follow up on the dates, lead discussions on what we can bring to the project this year, draw up a grant, lead publicity *etc*.
If you have any concern, as always use whichever channel you deem fit. Because either ways, I will keep everyone updated as I always have.
Usman & Bright please get in touch. You'll need to visit the WLM international page and put a name there, and move forward from there.
