FYI
Hello!
I am thrilled to announce the inaugural members of the new Wikimedia Foundation Communications Committee have been selected. These eleven community members were chosen from an impressive group of applicants. We carefully reviewed each candidate, and made our final selections based in part on the overall diversity and skillset of the group as a whole.
Please join me in congratulating our inaugural members:

The inaugural committee will begin working with the Wikimedia Foundation Communications department in the coming months to develop key goals and processes toward better collaboration between the department and community leaders. We are hopeful and excited that this group will open new avenues for discussion, sharing and highlighting the work of the movement. You can find out more about the committee, its progress, and how to engage directly with members via their Meta-Wiki page: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/ComCom.
We also want to encourage folks interested in movement communications to join the Movement communications group ( https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MoveCom), which has replaced the space for large group discussion of movement communications served by the previous iteration of this committee.
Again, congratulations to our inaugural members and thank you to everyone who showed interest in joining!
