Hello all, BarCamp Kasoa 2014 <http://barcampkasoa14.eventbrite.com/> is a
free networking event to bring people together for a day of discussion,
demos and dialogue about Kasoa, Ghana and beyond. This event would take
place on November 29, 2014 at Hase International School, Kasoa. The theme
is 'Contributing to a healthy market for business'. This 2nd Barcamp Kasoa
event will be the 41st Barcamp in Ghana. This is part of the Barcamp Ghana
program run by the GhanaThink Foundation <http://www.ghanathink.org/>,
building a network of changemakers, doers and entrepreneurs.
Come learn from, share and network with various young professionals and
students. At Barcamp Kasoa, we will discuss ways to make Kasoa a more
attractive place to do business with a focus on health and sanitary
conditions. We would discuss the present state of Kasoa, its emerging
growth and how it will be affected by the many projects happening around
it.
Through our partnership with the Making All Voices Count initiative, we'll
have multiple discussions around effective governance and accountability
through citizen engagement and open, responsive government. Our popular *speed
mentoring sessions* will also happen featuring various resource personnel.

</div>Hello, and apologies for the cross-posting. There are currently two job openings [0], and I thought someone here might be interested. Specifically:
*Community Liaison [1] - this position will initially focus on working with the Flow team and also with the Editing (VisualEditor) team [2], mostly at non-English wikis; however, a lot of smaller or short-term tasks continually come up, so the WMF is particularly looking for someone who is adaptable, and with diverse interests.
*Community Liaison (Part time contract) [3] - this part-time position will primarily focus on working with the Mobile teams [4], as the link explains.
If you need further information, feel free to send an email to cep(a)lists.wikimedia.org (but do not use the address to apply!). Please pass this message along, if you know someone who might be interested or a good fit for the Community Engagement team [5]. Thanks!
Best,
Elitre (WMF)

Fam,
I arrived in Ghana about 2 weeks ago.
For those that do not know me, I am Sandister Tei, one of the co founders
of WMGH user group.
Good job to all the various teams working on different projects.
3 things:
*Currently* I am facilitating a pilot of the so-called Wikipedia Editor
Retention Programme <http://erpgh.wmgh.org/> which you'll be hearing more
of very soon.
*Secondly* members with community tablets should make arrangements to
deliver them to me, so others who need temporary editing devices can borrow
them.
Please note that aside the tablet cases which I donated myself, every other
accessory plus the tabs themselves which is Wikimedia property, if damaged
will have to replaced or fixed.
Contact me to arrange a drop off at your convenience. By 30 November 2014,
all devices should have arrived safe and in the condition they were given
to you.
*Lastly *I purchased a domain name for the group. It's www.wmgh.org. Any
objections to it/the wording should be forwarded to me stei(a)wmgh.org for
changes to be made.
I hope you are all well. Keep editing.
Regards,
Sandister Tei
