Learn to edit/Election Project

Hello, The updated Wikipedia Election 2016 Project <http://bit.ly/2ddVX2f> is available to all to use the opportunity to learn to edit/edit. *Some simple tasks* This week you are invited to help list all political parties being represented in the elections. Step 1 – Visit the listing page <http://bit.ly/2cXdVV8> and add a party by clicking the* edit *link Step 2 – If the party you are adding has a Wikipedia page, input it by typing *[[Wikipedia: "Party's name on Wikipedia" | "Party's name as you want it to appear"]] If it doesn't have one use the same format, it'll show as a red link, which is a good indicator that the party may need a Wikipedia page so we create one. Step 3 – Save your edits. That's all! Easy. If you are having trouble please ask for help here or on our Whatsapp group page. If you'd like to add ideas or tips, please do. Wiki Love Monuments in Ghana Stats

In short, over 700 images were uploaded in this year's WLM 2016 in Ghana. Kudos to Felix and team who led the event. It is great to see many images. Not all of them might be strictly monumental, but they're great shots and tell a story relating to the monuments we have here in Ghana. Wikipedia Election 2016 Project

Hello guys. You are invited to join Wikipedia Election 2016 Project being organised by the group itself (not individuals) as earlier announced. The aim of the project is to have a portal where Wikipedia articles on people, topics, events, places related to election 2016 can be grouped so people can find them easily to either use the information there, or contribute to it. To achieve this also brings out the second aim, which is to encourage more people learning to edit Wikipedia, and even hearing about the WMF as a whole (that is the group's mandate btw). If you join this project, you are essentially helping make the above-stated aims happen. This is your opportunity to get edits (if you need motivation) and also be physically involved in outreach because without edits and involvement, you really don't enjoy the community. Those of you who also plan to embark on projects, it's participation like this that demonstrates your dedication to WMF and your user group. The individuals running funded projects, going on travels, doing residencies here and overseas among other things, started with these kind of groups events, so get involved. Check how your edits are going

I have been posed a question of how to check your edits by a member. I am so sorry I never mentioned this to the new editors. I used to chase people to count their edits until old age caught up with me :D j/k So below's a tool you can use. I am sure the other experienced editors may have their preferred tools too – suggestions are welcome. But please don't use the number of edits you have to discourage yourself or think you are not working hard. But it's a quick way to check what you've been up to. Some people have lots of edits but never help with any projects. Some get involved with projects but don't have high edits. Some people also have edits but are not content being used by browsers. Some have edits that were useless and have been reversed. Some have edits and have even been banned, some use robots ... In summary don't be discouraged if you don't have 1000s or millions.
