For those that signed up to attend the Post-WMCon 17 Meeting, like I
mentioned, we have been asked to make this a rapid grant rather than
individual TPS.
I asked that you let me know your budget. Please move your requests here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/Wikimedia_Ghana_User_G…>
.
Look under the budgets sections. Use the TPS table I have provided.

Good morning.
Those interested in joining the local organization of Wiki Loves Monuments
please list your names here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Ghana_User_Group_/_2017_Events_%2…>
.
There's space for those interested in organizing and then, those who want
to participate in the contest itself.
Find the section that applies to you and add your name wherever you want.

Hello Sandister,
Do you have to use words like paranoid in order to make your case?
I think this is the last time I will take comments like these from you.
Seeking clarification doesn't make anyone paranoid. This is a Usergroup
and it is run by the activities of volunteers and not a single person,
however asking why people sent you a message instead of responding to the
thread, I think is a valid question and didn't require such a responds.
Like I stated earlier on I don't have any issue with whoever leads it I
only have an issue with one person who decides on everything for a
Usergroup.
Next time show some respect and be decorous with volunteers because you
cannot run the Usergroup by yourself so please be sceptical about the words
you to volunteers.

Hello all, we received a message from the Wiki Loves Monuments team via the
mailing list some time back.
I think we need to assign local organisation to someone to lead. Anyone
here who has desired to lead a Wikimedia project but has never done so
before?
Let me know. You don't need any experience, just enthusiasm and time.
What you will do is just follow up on the dates, lead discussions on what
we can bring to the project this year, draw up a grant (I will help you),
lead publicity etc.

By 12.36pm on 2 May this post was up.
12.59 pm Usman Ibrahim sent me a direct Whatsapp message that he is
interested.
Bright Ayisi at 1.47 pm also said he was interested.
At 3.38 Raphael added his interest.
Some of you are unhappy that your colleagues sent me a DM instead of
posting publicly. I have made public the conversation via screengrabs for
those being paranoid. Please check the Whatsapp page.
Moving forward, the message said we need to *assign local organisation to
someone to lead. *The organiser slot there requests for one person. Per
first come first served, I would say Usman. But Bright I added bright
anyway.
Now that we have these two, please know that they are leading local
organization and they will rally all those who want to do this thing. *This
initial stage is just a call for leadership.*
Like the message said their job will be to follow up on the dates, lead
discussions on what we can bring to the project this year, draw up a grant,
lead publicity *etc*.
If you have any concern, as always use whichever channel you deem fit.
Because either ways, I will keep everyone updated as I always have.
Usman & Bright please get in touch. You'll need to visit the WLM
international page and put a name there, and move forward from there.

Good evening everyone.
We have been talking to Vodafone and Surfline on the possibility of
Wikipedia Zero. We linked them to WMF team and they were sent some
explainers.
I met one of the bosses of Busy 4G. She is keen on listening to what Zero
is about.
Is there any FEMALE willing to handle that partnership?
Also I remember someone offered to handle partnerships of this sort.
I will really like to speak with you on the way forward with Vodafone and
Surfline.
You don't have to be in Accra. Initial meetings involved picking contacts
physically which I have done.
So far the rest it's been electronic communication only.

Doris you can ask them when I put the names up. I am not their
spokesperson.
And no-one is obliged to answer to mailing list emails directly unless
whoever posted the message says otherwise.
So this question of yours, I have no answer for you.
Also there's a Whatsapp group. I had Justice post the info there for me
because I have not been on there for the last few days.
The email said whoever is interested should let me know. How people chose
to let me know was entirely up to them.
When I catch up on the Whatsapp group and perhaps people volunteered, I
will add that to those who sent me a direct message.
When the list is up whatever transparency issues you may have, you can take
it up from there.
You can join by letting me know like others have or you can write publicly
to the Whatsapp thread or mailing list. Whatever works for you.
At the end of the day, all will make it unto a public list so people can
move forward and get work done.

How come they didn't respond to this thread directly?
Or was there a form for the application process?

Because unfortunately, some people have come forward already, some of which
were involved in the 2016 one you held. And to ensure continuity, what I
can do is to put them (the names I have) in a group, point them to your
project report and you are free to advise them on what to do.
You can all work together somehow.
