Hello all,
Just a reminder that Wiki Loves Africa <http://wikilovesafrica.org> begins
tomorrow. For me, its gonna be icing on the cake as it'll be jumping from
one wiki loves to another.
As parts of the preparations for the WLA, I want to ask what the plans are
for us in Ghana? Are there any photo hunts that have been planned? If not
yet planned, any suggestions on what events we can hold, or what photohunts
we can target?
I'm back in November, so will join the November part of the WLA in Ghana.
Any plans? I currently haven't got any idea, so your suggestions will be
much appreciated.
thanks

In Ghana, over 10,000 kids die of diarrhea related diseases before the age
of five. Studies have shown that hand washing with soap and clean water can
reduce diarrhea related diseases by 45% which can have a significant effect
on reducing child mortality and school absenteeism.
Global Handwashing Day is on the 15th of October, 2014 and the Ghana
Volunteer Program is looking for at least a 100 volunteers for a Unilever
sponsored volunteer activity.
The Global Handwashing Day event mainly involves school visits. All
volunteers will be divided into groups. Each group assigned to a cluster of
schools and one group assigned to the town storm/float. At each school,
volunteers will visit each class and teach the kids the right hand washing
practice.
All volunteers will receive a Unilever branded volunteers kit (T-Shirt,
cap, wrist bands and towels), transportation to and from destination and
lunch. There will be a training session before the Global Handwashing Day
activity (15th October, 2014). Details for that will be available soon.
Be a proud Volunteer to help a child reach five. Let’s help eradicate
cholera and other diarrhea related diseases in Ghana. This is not only a
great opportunity to give back through community service but a great
learning experience that can be added to your CV.Help a child reach five
