Hi all,
This is to draw your attention to the upcoming Wikipedia event. The event
that comes off this Saturday the 29th of March, 2014 at the Kofi Annan ICT
Center is supposedly organized by a Ghanaian but UK based Wikimedian Kwaku
who wishes to educate Ghanaians on how to edit or contribute locally unto
Wikipedia.
Even though we were not directly informed or contacted we wish to attend
and as a matter of fact stage our presence as a community. We may seek to
partner with the organizers for future events and to draw their attention
to a community that is recognized by Wikimedia and does related stuffs.
I entreat all members to attend this event as this is an opportunity to
connect with like minds and to also improve your know-how of the Wikipedia
platform. We wish to announce our presence so a substantial number will be
needed to attend from this community. I have a surprise for all attendees
so kindly fill the form via the links below:

I have checked with Companies House. There are no registered companies
that relate to:
* British Black Music (run by Kwaku)
* BtWsc or MusicWrite Plus (run by K Kaywrite)
I have confirmed with the Department for Culture Media & Sport, that
eight years ago (2006) a lottery grant of £35,000 was paid for the
Brent Black Music History Project. This project was in partnership
with Brent Archives. It is not yet clear which legal organization
received the funds, was responsible for reporting on the project
outcomes or publishing financial accounts for the monies. As an unpaid
volunteer for Wikimedia UK with no authority, I have written to Brent
Archives and the Heritage Lottery Fund for confirmation and any
available reports.

Hi Guys,
Forgive me for my silence since my nomination as the community manager. I
wish to inform you that even in my absence I meant well for you all and
this community.
I have been thinking of ways to incite you, increase participation and our
total impact in our country. I wish to clearly state that this community is
opened to only those who are in sync with our objective, "To improve and
add local contents to Wikipedia".We also wish to be regarded as the sole
link to Wikipedia here in Ghana, operate as a body regulated under the
Wikimedia foundation and conferred with the mandate to operate legally
under its wings.
Henceforth edits, will be the only way to justify your status as a member
of this community. Each member will be allocated a monthly target (number
of edits), Other activities such as competitions, regular trainings,
outreach programs and regular meet ups will also be organized. Failure to
participate in any of these may result in withdrawal from this community.
Expect a detailed mail for the activities lined up for the year soon.
Cheers,
Felix Nartey

Updates
I have been to the event page (which I encourage all to also do) and advise
Wikimedia Ghana attends as participants and observers. The event
organiser(s) is not aware we exist as a group and also don't seem to be
aware that outreaches are being conducted in Ghana by us. They only know
of Rex & Sandister as Wikipedians in Ghana but really do not have an indept
knowlege of our activities as a group. Since this event intends to out
souvenirs, here is what is advised we do:
My take
We are not partners of this event. I therefore think our members should be
given T shirts to wear to the event instead rather than giving out our
stuff over there.
Those attending will be encouraged to please carry themselves as
participants and representatives of PWMGH and keenly observe as we are
going to count on their feedback/reports
What say ye people, reaching a consensus sooner is going to help us decide
earlier how we intend to participate in this event.
