Hi guys,
Just read the IMANI Ghana report on MDA’s and the internet
and chanced on a chapter that recognizes efforts made by Planning Wikimedia Ghana
“It is however fortuitous to note that most of the MDAs in Ghana have a representation on the Internet through the help of voluntary organizations such as Planning Wikimedia Ghana (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Planning_Wikimedia_Ghana ), whose contributions independently have created a worthy body of knowledge on MDAs in the country.”
You can read the report here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JzUKjQaZD9A8HEXuWa5GkBd2mpZTeRMrb3v6wZC…
Kudos #MoreVim
And o Oral am about to send in my application lol

Subject: [Wikimedia Education] spread the word about Wikimania scholarships!

Just a reminder that the Wikimania 2014 scholarships deadline is 17
February:
https://wikimania2014.wikimedia.org/wiki/Scholarships
We're planning some great programs for the Future of Education track, and I
highly encourage everyone involved in education programs to apply for a
scholarship to come to London. It would be great to have professors,
Ambassadors, and student editors from all over the world participating in
the event!
(I have no influence on the selection of scholarship recipients, I just
want to see lots of education volunteers in London!)

This article <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dado_Cavalcanti> is dead on
proper English. Just fix the bad English, no wiki text complications.
Assist if you can't find any Ghana related content to handle today.
Mind you, I found this on the New Pages
Feed<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:NewPagesFeed>.
Awesome tool to help you find work to do.
I hope your applications for London are going fine.

If you want a "senior" Wikipedian to adopt you and mentor you, I found
this: {{subst:dated adoptme}}. Add it to your user page. The pro-actively
go and read this article<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user>
.
Rex, kindly join the adopters if you have the time.
Let me know what you all think about getting adopted, I am trying it myself.

Hello,
We need as many GH administrators as we can get. (If you don't know what a
Wikipedian administrator is, please Google)
It seems some Ghana related articles which are important and notable by
Wikipedia standards are still not seen that way by other admins. We need
access to admin tools to make sure the quality of articles we are
struggling to build is protected.
The criteria for selection is stated but has subtle unstated ones as well.
Kindly have a look at these pages, this
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship>and
that<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Bureaucrats>
.
My wishes as the manager of this community are:
1. It is COMPULSORY to check out those who have been successful and
unsuccessful in their applications. Note what was said about them in
critique. Streamline your activities accordingly to stand a chance.
2. Try and get at least 1000 edits by December 2014. Not compulsory.
3. By Jan 2015, every member should have applied for adminship. COMPULSORY.
That way, even if you are turned down, you'll receive feedback on what you
haven't done well.
Unfortunately cultural contexts are different. Wikipedia tries to address
all cultures and hence protectors of the wiki should reflect this
diversity. If by now articles like Azonto which is a constant battleground
for Nigerians and Ghanaians can't be given some stability, there's a
problem. We need admins who can relate to these issues. Those admins can
come from PWMGH.

Sandister Tei
