Hello,
I've noted 27th April. I want to attend if you need my assistance. All current activities fall under Wikimedia Outreach in Ghana so I can send over souvenirs, get you permission to use Wikimedia Trademarks etc if needed.
For the Kasoa article, let's collaborate. We can call for edits concurrently via our social media platforms. It's very effective.
Further emails can be sent to me via sandistertei(a)live.com and cc Rexford Nkansah -- nkansahrexford(a)gmail.com, Ato Ulzen--abocco(a)gmail.com, Oral Ofori -- oralofori(a)gmail.com.

Subject: Re: [Wikimedia-GH] Hong Kong, Latest contributions to Wikimedia Outreach in Ghana & Other News
Thanks for sharing Sandister.
I am now seeing this info about tomorrow's training but will not be able to
make it to help me start that all important step of editing for my
classroom work.
But I am hoping to get some interested people in helping assist in
improving the article on Kasoa when they attend Barcamp Kasoa on the 27th
and move on to recruiting them. Let me know what prior arrangements I
should make in that respect.
Another barrier to my effective contribution apart from training is the
distance. But I am hoping that improves as I am almost done moving to Accra
now.
Morevim to us all.

Hello community,
Wikimedia Outreach in Ghana
Tomorrow there will be a Wikipedia training and Dieu-Donné Gameli of University of Ghana is hosting us at the ICT center. He has done very well.
I am not certain about turnout but I am hoping we can get new members who will either edit, or serve the community in some way.
Follow work done so far and pending ones here.

Enock Seth Nyamador is also amazing. So far he is closer to a 100 edits as a newbie. He has about 83 edits since January 2013 and most importantly he is working on the Ewe Wikipedia. I am recommending him for a position as an executive.
I think we should all be encouraged to support local language Wikipedia.
Dieu-Donné Gameli of University of Ghana is hosting us at the ICT center. He has been great support. Without him, that platform would have been non existent.
Ato Ulzen Appiah has hosted us all these months at Barcamps where active contributors like Enock were recruited.
Rexford Nkansah and me (Sandister Tei) have been having trainings before we were funded and post funding.
Nii Abbey hosted us at MiPROMO and has opened his doors for more trainings with free internet etc
Oral Ofori linked us to Nii and he paid to ship initial souvenirs which gave us presence in our initial campaigns.
What have you done for the community lately?
Active editing
Currently I (Sandister Tei) have 232 edits since I joined in August 2012 and Rexford has 729 since January 2012. There are others but I am pretty sure for PWMGH Rexford, Enock and me have pulled our weight. Even this is not enough because elsewhere people have 1000s.
Editing is the only way to secure our chaptership. A chapter means easier access to facilities and opportunities to lift the internet and time burdens we have so we can focus more on contributing. Editing is key. And editing is so easy and comes in various forms which you can all do if only you tried.
Elsewhere, people have hundreds of thousands of edits and we can all attempt that much. We are aiming at 20 top editors to secure our chapter. Those helping in other ways, don't stop but try and click that edit link and even check for common grammar.
We have 3 active contributors, (I stand to be corrected). We are looking for at least 17 more. I am throwing the challenge to all of us.
Sandister Tei has been selected to go to Hong Kong
I applied for the conference scholarship. I got it. I think I am the only one that applied. Next year, everyone should. It is just for 4 days and I believe you can leave work or school for just a few days for this important conference. But it starts with active editing and dedication to the community.
In other news
Our own Jimmy Wales is competing with Larry Page for the most influential in technology according to Time Magazine.Jimmy started Wikipedia as you all know and his project has pushed him to that height. Be encouraged. Wikipedia is a big deal. Commit to it and it will pay off.
I recently went for an interview and the most impressive achievement that I had was my work with PWMGH. It pushed me to the next level. So assess why you are in this community anyway and inspire yourself to contribute. We are not interested in titles, we are interested in doers.
Hopefully all should pay off soon.
Regards,
Sandister Tei

Tei Ink Press magazine is currently available via Google Currents app.
See this page for more details.
Despite power outage, strikes and external examinations interrupting with Accra and Tema Wikipedia training schedule, the 12 April training wasn't canceled.
Join us this Friday, 12 April at UGCS Third Floor Lab 1 (formerly ICT Directorate) at University of Ghana at 2pm for a Wikipedia training.
Rexford how do I ensure multiple accounts can be created that day as about 30 people will be in attendance?
