Dear colleges,
I'm sorry to write once more, but still I have no answer about adding Ukrainian lists to toolserver. So, hereby request you to include 2 lists:
Template name and its parameters are in this page - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki /Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/Monuments_database#Sources_overview
Unfortunately nobody from Ukrainian wiki have an "erfgoed" account so I have no chance to add them but only requesting for help here. I'd like to add them as soon as possible. Firstly I must be sure that I do everything correctly and the system works. Secondly if first 2 list will work correctly, this will ensure others, and encourage them to work with other lists, first of all adding coordinates to them.

Hi Andrij, I am trying to follow your logic because I think you are a bit stuck. I noticed you didn't have any monuments on Wikimedia Commons yet, so I just created some categories there for you and a template which you can see here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Moscow_Bridge
As the template indicates, you need to put in the logo of your heritage organization (I used the Ukraine flag) and the url to your heritage register (I used foo.org). The template lets you automatically link the heritage object to it's registry-by-number in an online database. I don't think you have one, but then you need to make one, because this link has to go somewhere, I think, otherwise you will not satisfy the need for notability of the photo on Commons. I labelled this bridge with the number from your list: K-0102
Next I saw that you added the data about your list to the 2011 page, but doesn't this need to be on the 2012 page? I can't even find the 2012 page for this though. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/Monument...
Sorry, I am not familiar with erfgoed bot, I can only follow the workflow diagram like you. I believe Maarten (Multichill) is the one who needs to do this for you. Jane

How strange that there are so many photo's of that bridge on Commons! I am glad to see I at least picked a good category to use for testing purposes.
The main gist of my story is that you need to think of the WLM list problem with the row template as being part of a triangular relationship within Wikipedia. The heritage number links via the row template to the Wikipedia article (infobox designation number?) which links to the Commons monument template with the unique identifier number in the photo or category. Sometimes there will be no picture, so nothing on commons, and sometimes there will be no article either, but your WLM row template list needs to have the infrastructure so that those two possibilities can be "found" by the erfgoed or any other bot. The Wikipedia article should have geocoordinates that match the geocoordinates in the in the commons files, and this is possible with the monuments database.
Jane
(off-topic to Yaroslav: they don't get the idea of geocoordinates in North Dakota)

There is still a lot of unfree pictures on Commons, since several years ago nobody knew about freedom of panorama, and even now, when I occasionally nominate some pictures for deletion i get someone asking on my talk page why do I do it. Ukraine is in this respect particularly bad, and I am seriously concerned about their WLM participation - for instance, in the left bank Kiev monuments list all monuments but two fall unto the FoP provisions, i.e. they are all copyrighted. And if we need to erase thousands of files afterwards, this is not going to have us good publicity.
(off-topic to Yaroslav: they dont get the idea of geocoordinates in North Dakota)
Oh, when I opened the topic in the NRHP WikiProject, I had no idea that there are so many issues, interests, and strong opinions involved, it looked like much more innocent. Thanks for the intervention, I think it was very useful.
Cheers Yaroslav
Andrij, you might want to edit those lists to only include numbers for the ones eligible for photographs, and leave out the numbers for the ones that should not be in the competition.
Yaroslav, About the Kiev monuments: Yes, we need to tackle these issues because you're absolutely right, we don't want to create a larger problem than the one we already have.
About North Dakota: It's amazing to me that for a state over 500 kilometers wide and with fewer than 700,000 inhabitants they would argue about whether or not they should allow stubs to be made for NRHP monuments. You would think they would be happy to create a monument article for everything that fits the NRHP description. Now they seem to be arguing about whether geocoordinates are useful. There is something rather comical about the responses. It reminds me of the movie Fargo.

We have quite a lot of monuments on Commons. I think about 1000 or even more. Maybe that's because not all of them are included to Category:Cultural heritage monuments in Ukraine by regionhttp://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Cultural_heritage_monuments_in_Ukraine_by_regioncategory, you think we have non of them, but in fact we do. Do we need placing all of them to corresponding subcategories?
As the template indicates, you need to put in the logo of your heritage organization (I used the Ukraine flag) and the url to your heritage register (I used foo.org).
Sorry, what template are you talking about? Our heritage register is Ministry of Culture of Ukraine http://mincult.kmu.gov.ua/mincult/uk/index%20, it seems it doesn't have own logo :))
I don't think you have one, but then you need to make one,
This 2 lists are beginning of it. A lot of lists are already present as articles in Ukrainian Wikipedia. Also they are availabla in www.wlm.org.uapage.
because this link has to go somewhere, I think, otherwise you will not satisfy the need for notability of the photo on Commons. I labelled this bridge with the number from your list: K-0102
Yes, it's OK. Unfortunately we have to develop own ID's because those that is used by our heritage register is too imperfect and insufficient.
Next I saw that you added the data about your list to the 2011 page, but doesn't this need to be on the 2012 page?
I was asked to do so by Elke and as far as I understand there is no such 2012 page. -- Regards, Andrij
Andrij, I don't think you need to copy all of your existing monuments to the new category, but you have to realize that in September, during the contest when the Commons upload wizard is activated, the template (I mean the Commons template that I linked to in my previous email) will be added to the photo during the batch run of the night after the upload. So in the case of this bridge with number K-0102, user XYZ will come along and use the WLM uploader and type in K-0102. Right after the upload, the template will be visible along with the WLM logo showing this K-0102 number, but nothing else. That night, the erfgoed bot will come along and put the photo in the proper category, and will also add gecoordinates that it gets from your list.
You had created a row template, but you forgot to create the Commons photo template. That is what I made and linked to the bridge category. If your ministry of culture (or their agency, since it's not clear to me who you got the list of monuments from) has no logo, then I guess you can use the Ukraine flag, but during the competition the Ukraine flag will also be used in the CC-by-SA licence template, so you will see it used twice in all uploads.
When I wrote "I don't think you have one, but then you need to make one", I was not referring to the number itself, but a link per photo to a place where you explain the number. The reason you need this is because we have said that the unique identifier is necessary to participate in WLM. During the WLM contest lots of mistakes get uploaded and many end up getting deleted because they cannot be traced to the proper record. I don't know if you can link to your wikipedia list. Usually this link goes directly to a heritage agency.
See for examples the other templates in use by other WLM countries here: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Monument_templates

Jane, our Ministry of culture (according to our law, a list of cultural heritage is its responsibility) do not publish a list of monuments in its page. Of course a link to the Ministry of culture page is possible but it is not useful - one can read nothing about cultural heritage here. The only possible link to a page with an explaination of the unique number in our case is a link to WLM-project pages with a list of monuments with unique ID from each one, displayed in a WLM-row.
In this case I think it would be more reasonable to link to WLM-project and explain that the number is given for WLM-competition. Maybe instead of Ukrainian flag it would be better to place WMUA logo or something like that?
Andrij, you might want to edit those lists to only include numbers for the

As far as we have lists of monuments in a main namespace, I suppose there is a reason to include to competition lists eligible monuments only. What do you think about it? For example lists of Kiev monuments would be pretty cut.

This is one option. Another option would be to clearly separate ineligible monuments with a different color. This is how I tried to do it when I still had an illusion that my effort is needed by somebody.

Looks pretty, though you have only one ineligible monument in this list. I suppose in my case a lot of monuments with a mark "do not upload to commons" will look odd.
So, I did some corrections in commons template. Please look, does it work correctly for Moscow bridgehttp://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Moscow_Bridgenow? If sow, I'll prepare the same for other monuments (eligible only, unlike Moscow bridge).
