Dear all,
a doubt:
is Instagram compatible with Creative Commons?
Can I upload *my* Instagram pics on Commons (so could it be used for WLM)?
Please consider that I'm not suggesting Instagram pics are good for WLM
(they are filtered and all, probably not very suitable for illustrating
monuments on Wikipedia)
but is a legal matter.

Hi everybody,
as I wrote in a previous thread on it.wiki the {{commonscat}} template
has been replaced with the more general {{interprogetto}} template. As
of now {{commonscat}} is deprecated on it.wiki, being kept only for
compatibility purposes. That said, though, the template doesn't work
as the versions on it.wiki or fr.wiki accepting only one paramtere
(namely the name of the commons category) and thus there is no way to
change the visualized text which renders the template ugly to put in
the lists.
I have asked for a change, but there is strong consensus against the
reintroduction of {{commonscat}}, moreover it has been noted that the
{{commonscat}} template is deprecated/redirect also on en.wiki and
fr.wiki:
* can the bot be changed to accept the name of the template to search?
(in it.wiki's case {{interprogetto}})
* if not, there is some alternative way to obtain the statistics
provided by that bot?
I have asked the adaptation of {{commoscat}} to follow the same
specifics as in en.wiki (while it will remain deprecated) as a
temporary measure while adapting the bot.
Can all this work?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Cristian
Hi everybody,
I just noticed I have received on my Commons talk page the "Thank you"
message for participating in WLM.
The message is (correctly) displayed in Italian but when I click on
the survey link I get the English version of the survey.
Isn't there a way to get the user to the correct language?
Thank you.
Cristian
Hi all,
I forget if this has already been determined, but is there an easy way to
see how many photos from WLM 2012 have already been incorporated in
Wikipedia articles (total and by country)?
Also, how many monuments that didn't have photos before have photos now
(total and by country)?
Is there any non-trivial way to track new articles based on WLM 2012 photo
uploads?
Any other thoughts on how to demonstrate the impact of WLM on Wikipedia
outside of the raw numbers?
thanks,
Matthew

I second WSC (below)
The specific context for WP:NRHP in the US is that we have county
lists with links (often red links) to an article on each of the sites
and a photo (sometimes blank) in the next column.
>From the info on the US page linked to --- I can now tell that 50.9%
of the photo slots in the lists (of about 87,000 sites) now have
photos, but I can't tell how many have red links. Anyway somebody
could do this?
And if you really want to practice your wizardry, could you tell me
how many have red links plus a photo (these are especially good
articles to start).
Any info appreciated.
BTW - "Trick or Treat!" and
Happy Halloween

Also is it possible to create lists of wikipedia articles without images
that are about monuments that now have images on Commons?
In a few weeks I'm running another workshop for donors who are willing to
give some time to Wikipedia, and the more straightforward I can make image
adding the more successful the event will be, I've already got a list of
articles in the UK that we probably have images for, but a list of
monuments that we definitely have images for would be better.

Hi there,
this is just to let you know that we have (finally!) broken 1,000
files in [[Category:Quality images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2012]]
today!
At the time of writing this e-mail, we have 1,057 files in that
category. What is more, we also have 17 Featured Pictures, and 15
Valued images; you can see all the highlighted content from this and
the previous edition of WLM at
<https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Highlighted_content_from_Wiki_L…>.
Congratulations on reaching this huge milestone everyone!
