A couple of weeks ago I was talking with Lodewikj about the idea of having
a configurable Jury Tool that would suit the need of most of the
participating countries. While it may seem early to talk about the Jury
Tool for countries that are participating for the first time, the countries
that are already experienced in the contest can give valuable input about
what features should this tool have.
We are already collecting information in this link
and I would like to get in touch with people that developed jury tools for
previous contests so that we can start a discussion about features.

The Android app for Wiki Loves Monuments from Wikimedia Foundation seems to have been redrawn from Google play.
Does anyone know if and when it will be released again on Google play or some other market place for apps?

After having participated in WLM 2012 and having a winning entry for the
same, it brings me pleasure to announce that India will be participating
again in WLM 2013.
Also Wikimedia India has agreed to support the participation and soon
enough someone from EC will reach to the community with the details about
prizes and jury for National competition on the relevant list.
Let us hope we get to see some more fascinating pictures of Taj Mahal and
many other monuments. Thanks.
Hi! I'm currently working on the Norwegian part of WLM as part of a
Wikipedian in Residence project with the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural
Heritage (Riksantikvaren). To make things easier to link the objects with
wikipedia articles on the three different "Norwegian" wikipedias (Norsk
(bokmåls), Norsk (Nynorsk) and Sami) I've put in a proposal for an wikidata
property for Kulturminnesøk (which is the directorates open access heritage
I was wondering if you guys had any experience/ideas about using wikidata

A short update about the Guinness World Record. Thanks to Erik Zachte, we
have been able to produce a list of all submitted files, following the
narrower criteria of Guinness World Records. For the record: for all other
purposes we use the lists as unfiltered as possible, focusing on the
intention of the uploaders (i.e. statistics).
I have filtered this list on the exact upload date & time (with the
exception of uploads on Flickr that have been uploaded afterwards in
Panama) and removed Belgium & Luxembourg from the set (as those countries
did not submit nominees to the international jury). I only have to filter
Italy a bit more strictly to ensure we only catch the valid submissions,
but once that is done I will be able to put the real application process in
So hopefully more news soon! Right now, it looks like the official number
of valid submissions will end up between 355.000 and 360.000 .
I am trying to find the statistics of WLM 2011.
Mainly I would have the list of participants and the number of photos
uploaded by each of them.
I had in my old email a tool of Nuno Tavares but the account is expired.
Is there any other chance?

I am happy to finally announce that Armenia is participating to WLM2013!
We were until now trying to find the list of monuments. And we did. The
state monument list that we are going to use includes 23.460 monuments.
We are now working to transfer this list to Armenian Wikipedia in the
form of wiki-pages.
For instance you can see the list for one of the districts of Yerevan
Also, we are wandering if we should use the list of natural monuments as
well (I didn't see any mention about natural monuments in our project
page on Commons).
Also we are preparing to launch the website www.wikilovesmonuments.am
soon and we are looking for sponsors/partners.
Because we are newcomers we will need your help and advices, especially
when it comes translating the tools in Commons.
