Local websites, missing urls and vulnerable versions

I have been retrieving the list of websites for each participating country. There were 8 countries for which I didn't find a url at the linked page from https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012/Partic… I saw a number of sites using outdated software. If your country is listed below, you should update your CMS or bring this mail to the person in charge of the website. I also found a couple of pages linked to the https version of their website, but the server provided the wrong certificate. If you provide https urls they should work. Finally, a few statistyics: 18+1 countries* are using WordPress and 5-1 MediaWiki**. Hungary seems to be the only one to be doing something different and not to use a CMS. Countries without a chapter: trademark usage

Hi all, There are some countries without a fully formalized chapter yet - which means you don't have permission yet to use the Wikimedia trademarks without prior authorization. However, this doesn't have to be a problem. If you're organizing Wiki Loves Monuments without a chapter backing you up, please send an email to me and mpaulson(a)wikimedia.org (Michelle Paulson) asking for a trademark agreement. That temporary agreement will allow you the use of the Wikimedia logo's and trademarks to be able to organize the Wiki Loves Monuments in your country effectively. Please let me know if you need further assistance here or if you have questions. To be clear: if you're organizing Wiki Loves Monuments in your country - you do not need any special permission (except following the international rules of course) to use the Wiki Loves Monuments logo and marks. Hello all, There is more to translate! * https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2012 ** Missing languages: be (Belarusian), bn (Bengali), cs (Czech), he (Hebrew), hi (Hindi), lb (Luxembourgian), uk (Ukrainian) & perhaps in other languages too! After my last message I have added to many header templates links to the websites of Wiki Loves Monuments in the particular country. As I do not speak every language, in some templates users who can write that language should translate the English part(s). This is the case with the following templates: * Please translate "Website of the contest" into Czech (cs): https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:Upload_campaign_he… * Please translate "Website of the contest" into Hebrew (he): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-il/he * Please translate "Other countries" into Norwegian (no): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-no/no * Please translate "Website of the contest" into Romanian (ro): https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Upload_campaign_header_wlm-ro/ro In some countries I wasn't able to find a website for Wiki Loves Monuments: Bangladesh (bd), Denmark (dk), Hungary (hu), Kenya (ke), Liechtenstein (li), Norway (no) When the websites are created, to need to be put in the header templates. Wiki Loves Monuments Android App v1.1beta2

Greetings WLM testers, Below you'll find a new beta of our android app that's very close to being feature complete. As before, make sure to have "Unknown sources" in Settings => Applications turned on. Uploads will go to test wiki so feel free to upload whatever you like. Question about Swiss lists

Dear all, I am standardizing the list of Switzerland monuments and I have seen that they are big differences in several languages. I don't know if there are persons working on the Swiss lists who are subscribed in this mailing list. Mainly there are the lists in English, German, French, Italian (Rumantsch is missed). It seems to me really hard to manage them also to integrate in the database and in the tools. Mainly the most complete list is that in English but in the tools there are only the German monuments and the management seems to be a real challenge. As the contest is country based, I would suggest to use the same template for the whole Switzerland and in this case the English one can be promoted because it is very similar to the Italian and to the German (only with a small modification), but not with the French one, but the French list is also the lesser complete. In addition I would suggest to *don't translate* the items but to use the identification used by the Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property of National. In their publication there are no translations. They use the name in Italian for Swiss Italian monuments, those in German for Swiss German monuments and in French and in Rumantsch. This may help to identify the monuments (the local road markings in Switzerland are not translated) and to avoid ridicoulous translations (in English I have found "rovine" which means "ruins" as address of a monument or the address as name of the monument). Wikipedia doesn't accept original works, the translation of these monuments is in my opinion an original work. If there is an official translation we may use it, if there is not, I suggest to keep the original one. Wiki Loves Monuments in Mexico

Hi amigos, We're happy to confirm WLM in Mexico! Finally after some long legal talks with the INAH, the authority that protects the monuments in Mexico, today we received the list of 9 thousand monuments of Mexico since prehispanic times to the early twentieth century. Wikimedia Argentina is supporting us on technical issues to convert and upload the list, that which we receive in Excel. Also we will receive support and sponsorship to the contest by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Museo Universitario del Chopo, the tourism ministery of Mexico City, and very probably, Telmex. Our website is wikilovesmonuments.mx. Yesterday evening it was put online by Filip (user:dungodung) Anyway, Lodewijk made a good job by linking the "about" page, instead of the welcome screen. I will work on the English translation as soon as possible.

Hello, I moved Serbia from the possibly participating countries to the participating countries, as Lodewijk noticed. Also, about the Welcome page - I believe it is obvious that the text "Wiki Loves Monuments" is clickable, since the mouse cursor changes to the hand cursor.
