Hi,
Now that the Wikipedia in that language is live, what should be the autonym for the Jamaican Creole language?
Currently it's "Patois", which is probably incorrect. I can see different names floating around: "Jamiekan", "Jamiekan Patwa", "Patwa", "Jamiekan Kriyol", etc., and I don't know what to pick. It must be something unique and identifiable to the language's speakers. The most common name that is used in actual publications in Jamaica would be perfect.
Intuitively, I'd pick "Jamiekan" because it's short and unique, but I'm really, really not an expert and I shouldn't decide it myself.

Ask that community on their wiki?

Probably the best option (at least to begin with). As you can see on the autonym article history, the name has been change a few times since 2008 : https://jam.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jumiekan_Kryuol&action=histo... (Jamaican Creole moved to Jamiekan Kriol ; Jamiekan Kriol moved to Jumiekan Kriol ; Jumiekan Kriol to Jumiekan Kriyol ; Jumiekan Kriyol to Jumiekan Kryuol).

On the main page https://jam.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mien_Piej it is Jamiekan Patwa which is used.

Actually I see both are there, but this non-standard Jumiekan seems to be more recent.

At this point I am pretty concerned about the Jamaican Creole spelling policy. Tamir mentioned spelling errors but said it was generally OK. But that’s different from their actual policy, which does not use the Cassidy Standard.

In my Jamaican Alice, there is a foreword in the target language and a translation of it into English. In the former the term “Jamiekan Patwa” is used; in the latter, this is translated by “Jamaican Creole”.
I think you should use “Jamiakan Patwa” since that is what my translater chose specifically. She is quite well-educated and skilled.
