Hallo!
I am going through https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Open_requests_for_new_languages , project by project, letter by letter, up to ten requests per email, one email per day.
I am now working on Wikipedia, and today I'm handling the second batch of letter L.
== Libon Bikol == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Libon_B... Code: lbl My take: Delete the request. The user hasn't been active since posting requests for several languages a year ago.
== Logudorese Sardinian == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Logudor... Code: src My take: Not sure, leaning not eligible. There is a lot of discussion on the request page. I am not seeing strong arguments saying that it's distinct from Sardinian (sc), in which there already is a Wikipedia, but perhaps I need to re-read it more thoroughly.
== Louisiana Creole == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Louisia... Code: lou My take: Eligible. The user who created the request is no longer active, but the code is valid, the language is living and unique, and other users are slowly working in the Incubator.
== Luba-Kasai a.k.a. Tshiluba == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Luba-Ka... Code: lua My take: Eligible, and I'd even say that it's quite close to a stage where it should be fully approved.
== Kiluba (not to be confused with Tshiluba == Requst: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Kiluba Code: lu My take: Eligible. No activity in the Incubator till now, but I've been in contact with someone from DR Congo, who I hope will start contributing. If I'm not mistaken, lu is the last two-letter code for a living language that Wikimedia doesn't support in any way, and for that alone it should be marked as eligible ;) But seriously, if anyone has objections, I'm fine with waiting.
== Lushootseed == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Lushoot... Code: lut My take: Waiting. The language is borderline eligible, and there is some content in the Incubator, but there are no serious contributors at the moment.
== Láadan == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_L%C3%A1... Code: ldn My take: Ineligible. If anyone has a different opinion, I'm open to hearing it. This artificial language seems to have had an active community in the past outside the Wikimedia world, which would be good for eligibilty. If it was still active, I'd probably lean towards "eligible". Unfortunately, its website https://laadanlanguage.com/ appears to be abandoned at the moment: The latest updates are from 2020, and the forum is full of spam. I should also add that in 2023, there was a request to add it for localization on translatewiki, and I did it, but there was very little real translation activity. I tried emailing the request creator several days ago and got no reply.
