the blog and vice versa.

Just please don't make it the only place where this is announced. Not
everybody has a Facebook account. Also, Facebook is very ephemeral -
posts come and go, they are hard to search, and it's challenging to
find old ones.
A recently suggested idea, that a Langcom member who champions a new
project would write a blog post about is much more sustainable,
aligned with Wikimedia values, and convenient.
