I think this is pretty neat, and I'm glad someone did this.
We should promote this from time to time, and see if we can really end up having some actual meetups.

If you want to arrange physical meetings, I much prefer something much more transparent and free-form like evite.com. They don't try to impose any structure, they just facilitate the process of people organizing their own meetings.

Hmm. How about organizing these meetings using some kind of editable scratchpad .. a page where anyone can contribute, add suggestions, refactor etc. I know it sounds strange .. should have a strange name, too. How about "wookee"?

Well, when I click on that it asks me if I want to go a meeting in Pueblo, Colorado. Not real likely (unless I am well paid). I live in a resort town that really would be a cool place to visit. It all seems kind of canned to me. I certainly have no desire to go to a bar in Pueble (Pewtown even repealed its smoking ordinance).
