Hello,
The Celebrate Women 2026
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> campaign is around
the corner!
Celebrate Women <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> is
a campaign that will run from March 1 to March 31. Every year, in
celebration of International Women’s Day, Wikimedia organizers use this
campaign to list gender-related events during March and as an opportunity
to advance the achievements of the women’s rights and gender equity
movement globally.
These events create opportunities to grow content about women and
non-binary people on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects. Join us!
> Do you want to participate?
If you are hoping to participate, please stay tuned to this page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women#Events> for events
that will be listed. Register for them individually by choosing those that
suit your interests. The events will be added to the page in the next few
weeks.
And don't forget to register here
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> (using the
registration at the top of the page) to keep track of information relevant
to the overall campaign.
> Do you want to organize an event?
If you or your group plans to organize a gender event or campaign during
this period, please note:
-
The page to add your events is the following subpage: Celebrate
Women/Events
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women/Events>. Events
on this page are now divided into 'global' and 'regional' events. Please
choose the section that better suits your needs.
-
The campaign's main page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Celebrate_Women> will be used to
promote your events or campaigns. It will be added to the CentralNotice
banner and displayed to many potential participants.
> Special sessions:
The Wikimedia Foundation is also happy to announce that we will be
hosting *three
special events* for Celebrate Women 2026 in the coming weeks! This is part
of our ongoing commitment to gender equity and providing training for the
movement.
Training sessions:
We will host 2 sessions aimed at organizers with topics that help better
manage a Wikimedia event. The goal is to empower local gender organizers
with essential features to lead activities during this campaign.
- When? Last week of February. Stay tuned for the dates soon!
Opening session:
We will open Celebrate Women 2026 with a session to share logistical
information about how to participate in the campaign and the different
gender activities happening around the month. This will be aimed at anyone
who wants to take part in the campaign.
- When? First week of March. Stay tuned for more!
Join us for Celebrate Women 2026 and help us make the Wikimedia movement
and projects more equitable!
Warmly,
Giovanna

Dear All,
We are writing to you as researchers from the University of Regina in Regina, Canada who are studying open data. We invite you to participate in the Open Data Community Survey 2025 if you use or provide open data or FAIR data or if you are interested in using semantic metadata to improve the usability of your data.
The survey is estimated to take 15-20 minutes to complete, and it is available at the following link:https://uregina.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_2ryvDaooieWaAjY
Your responses will provide invaluable insights into the state of the open data community in 2025. You may choose to answer as open data user or provider if one of those roles dominates your time or both if they make equal demands of your attention. Please help to improve the power of the survey by sharing this invitation to participate widely within your networks. However, there is no obligation for you to pass along this invitation, and there will be no penalty to you if you do not share it.
You can read more about the survey at: https://www2.cs.uregina.ca/~hepting/projects/open-data/community-survey-202…
Data from the study will be posted as open data at these locations:
* https://<https://www2.cs.uregina.ca/~hepting/projects/open-data/community-survey-202…>www2.cs.uregina.ca/~hepting/projects/open-data/community-survey-2025<https://www2.cs.uregina.ca/~hepting/projects/open-data/community-survey-202…>
* https://borealisdata.ca/dataverse/heptingd<https://www2.cs.uregina.ca/~hepting/projects/open-data/community-survey-202…>/
The survey has been approved by the Research Ethics Board at the University of Regina in Regina, Canada. Funding for this survey has been provided by the DDI (Data Documentation Initiative) Alliance, an international collaboration dedicated to developing metadata standards and semantic products for describing social science data, data covering human activity, and other data based on observational methods.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Please note that there are inherent security issues when using email as a communication tool. By default, emails are not encrypted and are vulnerable to interception by outside sources or someone may see that you are involved in this research if you leave your browser open. We will use the phrase “Meeting Reminder” in the subject-line of all email correspondence so you will know the email is from us and recommend you submit any email queries using the same term.

Sorry to bother mods, but when the xrumers find a working link they will go
on until stopped. I suggest whitelisting of current list members and
moderation of messages until at least one from a given sender is approved.
