C'est un caractère que met ton navigateur (ie ?) pour remplacer un caractère qu'il ne sait afficher. Mozilla m'affiche un point "un peu haut".

The &-code is refering to a unicode-character for a mid-dot.

Yes, that's how the file Aoineko sent me had it... If a mid-dot is the right thing to use, · might be better for those who don't have Japanese fonts installed. :)

I suspect it's just Aoineko being fancy. Please could we have a plain old comma instead?

I didn't made any aesthetic change. It was just a bug. The file is shared on the french wikipedia at this address : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%E9dia:LanguageFr.php I asked everybody if they were ok with this new version before to send it. By the way the old version was " à " but I put ", " like Tarquin suggested. You are free to change.
Aoineko
I have some question about sound on Wikipedia.
1) Ogg format is a recommendation or an obligation ? 1 bis) Can we use other format like mp3, wav, etc... ? 2) Do you planed to support feature like <embed> ?
That's all.

1) Ogg is recommended because it's a public standard, freely available on all computers. MP3 has patent problems, but is a de facto standard and should also be OK (if the only source material you have is MP3, don't bother recoding to Ogg as that will only reduce quality further). WAV is uncompressed, and therefore unacceptable except in the rarest of cases (I can only think of a few: like short test sounds in articles about digital signal processing).
2) No, I don't ever plan to support embed. Sounds sould play on demand only. I do plan to make some nicer features for audio and video playback at some point.

sure wav's ADPCM is a poor compression ;o) if I asked if we can use mp3 is mostly because ogg is not supported by <embed>.

<embed> can play on demand only -> autostart="false" I suppose we can deal with sound without a player, but I think it's pity. <embed> is W3C standard, isn't it ? I don't know at all what percentage of browser support it, but thank to <noembed> tag, we can manage all case. no ?

Aoineko

Nope - it's Netscape proprietary. The W3C equivalent would be <object type="audio/rtp-vorbis"> (or possibly type="audio/vorbis")
