I don't know if it's exactly legal to use the
name "wikipedia" for an
off-site version, in fact I'm betting it's not, but the foundation has
plenty of more important things to worry about than costly legal
battles over whether or not such sites should be able to use the name,
especially if it's only temporary.
Please don't do this. Violating the Foundation's trademarks is hardly
a good start to getting your wiki accepted within the project. If it
needs to be off-site, you should choose another name for it until it
is officially a Wikipedia.
Is there actually any objection to Võro being created now at fiu-vro?
