Hi!
On August 9 there is other event worth to attend: Linux 17th Anniversary Picnic. More details: http://www.linuxpicnic.org/twiki/bin/view/Picnix17/
So will be good idea to do not set meet-up date on August 9.
Eugene.

Awesome. 30 was about what I had guessed previously as a max. The November 07 meetup was about 20, if I remember.
Personally, I'd say something like August 23rd. We can't do the 30th anyways as it is Labor Day weekend. Personally I'm hoping to get meet ups set up for a fairly regular basis, so it is not a "big deal" if you can't make one. Let's be realistic, no matter when we schedule a meet up - someone won't be able to make it.

Having been to both Metaweb and WMF offices, I'd WMF is better suited to small groups (~10), while Metaweb can accommodate larger ones. What's the kitchen area seat, Kirrily? And more importantly, what size group are you comfortable having come by?
We've had 70+ people in that space before but it was a bit crazy ;) We'd be absolutely comfortable with up to 30, I think. As numbers grow, it's really just a matter of making sure that some more of our staff attend to keep an eye on things. Since they'd probably be pretty interested anyway, this shouldn't be too big a deal.
I need to talk to our office admin guy and make sure it's OK. It would help if I had a date to work with, though "a Saturday in August" is a good start.
