Hi Lodewijk,
about two weeks ago you announced the Europeana Art Noveau price (
http://www.wikilovesmonuments.eu/2011/07/30/art-nouveau-prize/), first of
all I have to say I'm really excited, congratulations to everyone who worked
on making that possible!
Since September is coming closer and we're starting with press releases etc,
I wonder about the details.
What I got from the post was that every picture submitted to the contest
will enter the Art Noveau price competition. Will we need to categorize all
Art Noveau pictures in a special WLM-Art-Noveau-Category or is Europeana
digging through tens of thousands of pictures? If there's going to be a
special category for the price, we'll probably need the participants to
select beetween "This picture contains Art Noveau", "I'm not sure" and "This
picture has no Art Noveau in it"?
Secondly, I wonder what the actual prize is going to be, wether there'll be
more than one winner, when the winner will be announced etc.
Best regards,
Kilian
Hello all, hallo allen,
HELP!!
I received today a message from kthoelen that he is due personal circumstances not able to arrange prices. He was the one who took up that part of the Belgian/Luxembourg WLM-contest.
** Who want to help out with this urgent part? **
Current status of prices:
* book packages, and subscriptions on a magazine (year): both **possible**, not sure yet (arranged by MADe)
* Sponsoring of Wikimedia Netherlands and France promised, but concrete?
Who want to help with arranging the prices? (Nobody else has taken this up yet, and I personally do not have the time for it.)
Help please!
Greetings - Romaine

Hi,
Can some of our castillian speaking friends help us translate our website
into their language? We would like to have it in the language of our
neighbours as well.
If so, please come into contact with me!
Thank you!

Hi Lucien,
Would you be able (and willing) to make a more general tool of this
based on http://toolserver.org/~erfgoed/api/api.php so other countries
can benefit from your work?

Hey all,
I wonder what everybody think about listing each country' partners in
the European "partner" section?
Special care should be taken to highlight European-level partners, of
course, but that could give more visibility to each local partner and,
consequently, motivate them to partner with us.
What do you think?

Hello all / hallo allen,
First question: who would like to help with translating the website this week from English to French and German? Please let us/me know!
Laat het me weten!
Arranging getting access to the website domain www.wikilovesmonuments.be is still difficult. With the current software (Wordpress) we aren't able working with, because we want our website in at least 3 languages, that seems impossible with the software. We have requested to get server-access, so that we can install MediaWiki.
We think we would like to base the website on the one of our Swiss colleagues:
We denken dat we onze website het beste kunnen baseren op die van onze Zwitserse collega's:
http://www.wikilovesmonuments.ch/
The website involves setting up 3 things:
De website benodigt het opzetten van 3 dingen:
1. Look & feel / Uiterlijk
2. Structure / Structuur
3. Texts / Teksten
The Look & Feel can't we do yet, that is only possible when we got the server-access. But the structure and texts we can already set up. We think to set it up equal to the Swiss one. That is the goal of this week.

Hi everyone,
I'm very happy I met a lot of you guys at Wikimania. I'm really looking
forward to September now! The presentation Lodewijk and I gave is at [1].
I just got in some other good news: Our presentation about Wiki Loves
Monuments at Dish 2011 [2] got accepted!
"Digital Strategies for Heritage (DISH) is a biennial international
conference on digital heritage and the strategies that heritage
institutions can follow. Triggered by changes in society, heritage
organisations face many challenges and need to make strategic decisions
about their activities and services. The key motivators for the
conference are inspiration, knowledge, skills and networking on the four
days of DISH."

I am thinking to contact Sony Switzerland for sponsoring opportunities, ideally I could talk about the european aspect of the contest and trying to discuss a global sponsoring! But for that I need to be sure that none of us is talking with another brand, we are all ok if we have a Camera brand as sponsor?
I see in the minutes of Berlin that Nicole should try to see with Zeiss, as it is a part of Sony, there is no conflict, but we could try to have a common line of discussions with sponsors.
Sincerely

Hello,
Sorry if this news has already been posted here:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_Mittelhessen
Kilian had reported about the idea itself, I believe, and he is the
contact person.
WMDE has granted 8000 EUR to a project to take photos in Central
Hesse, a German region. People are invited to come and get their
travel expenses back.
Kind regards
Ziko
