The cultural heritage institution of Andorra features Wiki Loves Monuments on his main webpage and announces the prizes for the best photo of Andorra. Its estimated value is 350 euros and it is not still closed as there are ongoing conversations with another potential sponsor. I am really happy with their collaboration and their prize offered which is more than what I could expect for a target list of 111 monuments.
I am grateful to Andorran user Cdani, the very first user who wrote the first articles in a non English Wikipedia more than 10 years ago. Currently he is not an active Wikipedian, but he still helps when needed. Wiki love rocks!

Hello,
It seems that Kilian was very successful in Bergheim, a municipality
close to Cologne. Alas, the newspaper did not really understand the
character of "Wiki loves monuments", calling it a new platform and
"Ableger" (branch, offset, spin-off) from Wikipedia. I always found
the name "Wiki loves monuments" a bad idea, by the way, we should
simply talk about "Wikipedia loves monuments" to avoid confusion.
A funny thing besides: the local liberal party (FDP) complained about
the collaboration between the city and Wikipedia. People could be
identified on the photographs taken. So it prefers the local
government to take pictures and put them on an official website.
Kind regards, and congratulations to Kilian,
Ziko

All 5137 monuments in Sweden that I have in my sources are now listed in the
Swedish language Wikipedia with unique IDs, names, and municipality, most of
them also with coordinates (97 %) and other details. These monuments are
"sites" (anläggningar), some including several buildings. I have not
bothered
to list the coordinates for each individual building.
This was a fast job, because I was late to understand that this was my task,
and I had to cut some corners to get it done. Wikipedians are now making
the lists prettier, linking the names to existing articles, adding missing
coordinates, adding images, and so on.
I have updated the progress table,
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/Progress
The template details for Sweden are included here,
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/Monumen…
but the statistics there needs to be updated (it says 950 objects).

Hi all,
I'm sorry that this is taking longer than expected - Wikimania is really
time consuming. I am happy to be able to present you the preliminary jury -
some confirmations still necessary. The jury looks like the following:
* Heritage specialist: Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailovic, Secretary-General of
Europa Nostra (to be confirmed)
* Heritage specialist: Ann Branch, Head of Unit, Culture Programme and
Actions, DG EAC, European Commission (to be confirmed)
* Photographer: Proposed: Sebastiaan ter Burg, photographer who also works
under CC-BY-SA exclusively. (confirmed)
* Photographer: Michael Biedowicz, Director of photography at Zeit Magazin
(confirmed)
* Wikipedian: Tomasz Ganicz, president of Wikimedia Polska, Wikipedian since
2001 and enthusiast photographer (confirmed)
* Wikipedian: Góngora, (to be confirmed)
* Wikipedian: vacant
We're still looking for a nice position for Wikipedian3 - any suggestions?
I think we have a wonderful lineup so far! We are also still looking for a
good jury moderator. If necessary, I can take that role upon me, but I would
be happy if someone else who has a bit more experience on that is willing to
do it.
Best regards,
Lodewijk

I listened to the episode of Wikipedia Weekly episode 88, and was surprised
that there was a short, but very positive mention of the WLM contest in
Europe this year.
For all that are interested, just listen to the podcast, it's somewhere in
the middle...
For all the once that attended Wikimania, listen to the other two episodes
too, they are probably at your interest.

Hi everyone,
Would it be nice to have a special price for video's made for Wiki Loves
Monuments? We don't have an awful lot of user made video's and this
might be a fun way to promote it.
Maarten
Ps. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wiki_loves_monuments.ogg is a
nice first step :-)
Hi everyone,
Jeroen is busy working on building the custom upload wizard system we
want to use for Wiki Loves Monuments. You can play around with it at
http://wiki.bn2vs.com/Special:UploadWizard?campaign=wlm-be
Still a lot needs to be done, but now you can see work is being done on
this!
Maarten
Hi Maarten,
> The template used by every file part in the competition. It requires
a country code as a parameter. Based on this country code a category and
a logo is set.
Is this parameter automatically set by the upload wizard in some way?
Could we add an optional parameter for the next regional sub-entity?
(don't know what other countries use here, for Germany it would be i.e.
DE-NW (North Rhine-Westfalia) or DE-BE (Berlin) That could help greatly
with a finer-granulated categorization.
Could we - independent of that - please motivate people with a short
help text in the wizard to name their images as exact as possible with a
suggested structure? (i.e. city + object/address) - sorting stuff in the
respective subcats will be a painful monkey work anyway ;-)
Thx + regards,
elya
Hi everyone,
A heads up: We plan to use global notice in September for promotion of
Wiki Loves Monuments 2011. The plan:
* The banners will be up the month September in European countries
* First we set up a catch all European banner in all European countries
and in a lot of languages to point at http://www.wikilovesmonuments.eu
* Countries set up their own country based banner (based on the European
one) which points to their local website and remove themselves from the
catch all European banner
This way each everyone in Europe will get a WLM notice, either pointing
to the European site or to a local one. This will attract a lot of people.
What do you think? Who wants to help? Who wants to set up a good looking
banner?
Maarten
