If I read the statistics correctly [1], only 36% of all 30,388 MediaWiki messages have been translated (a further 2% are out-of-date), i.e. 19,359 have never been translated in the first place. Even of the most important 585 messages, one is out-of-date. Hoi, The original thought about translating all messages is that it is for the community to continue translating after the initial project starts. There has never been a limitation in the number of messages required for subsequent projects. First the most used messages and then all messages.
