Hallo!
I am going through https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Open_requests_for_new_languages , project by project, letter by letter, up to ten requests per email, one email per day.
I am now working on Wikipedia, and today I'm handling the letter B.
== Balantak == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Balanta... Code: blz My take: Eligible.
== Balochi (unified) == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Balochi Code: bal My take: Hard to decide without expert consultation: should it be one wiki ( bal.wikipedia.org) or several wikis (bgn.wikipedia.org, bcc.wikipedia.org, bgp.wikipedia.org)? I've already emailed an expert a few weeks ago, but got no reply, and today I tried emailing another. I'm suggesting marking it as "waiting" and adding the comment: "The Language committee is consulting with experts and trying to figure out whether this should be one wiki for all varieties of Balochi, or a separate wiki for each variety." Any other suggestions?
== Bole == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Bole Code: bol My take: Eligible.
== Bororo == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Bororo Code: bor My take: Eligible, albeit very small, and there's no Incubator activity.
== Braj == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Braj Code: bra My take: Eligible.
== Buhinon == Request: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Buhinon Code: ubl My take: I'm not sure. It confuses me a bit. There is already the Central Bicol Wikipedia (bcl), and it's even somewhat active. According to https://iso639-3.sil.org/code/ubl , Buhi'non and Central are a part of the same macro-language, but according to Glottolog, the two languages are in different branches under Bicol languages, so maybe they are distinct. Does anybody have an idea?
