Approval of Wikipedia in Seediq and Atayal

Hello, everybody! The test Wikipedias in Seediq and Atayal are looking good, with both a good amount of localization and number of editors. [1][2] Both languages are Austronesian languages spoken by indigenous people in Taiwan. I have been in touch with Mr. Wei-cheng Huang from the National Taiwan University [3], and he confirmed the linguistic validity of both test Wikipedias. Therefore, I would like to suggest the approval of both of these language editions. I think Tachelhit Wikipedia might already be ready for approval. Meitei / Manipuri (mni) Wikipedia and Wiktionary

The activity of Wt/mni looks quite good: https://meta.toolforge.org/catanalysis/index.php?cat=0&title=Wt/mni&wiki=in… This is the 7th month of continuous activity as usually defined, and the project is semi-continuously active since mid-2018. The most-used msgs are almost complete: https://robin.toolforge.org/?tool=codelookup&code=mni I'll add that the test-Wikipedia also has considerable activity: https://meta.toolforge.org/catanalysis/index.php?cat=0&title=Wp/mni&wiki=in… I propose to approve mni Wiktionary as the first project in that language, and hope that the Wikipedia can soon follow. Thoughts?

Closure of Northern Luri Wikipedia

Hi James, this is to you as the Board liaison of Langcom about https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proposals_for_closing_projects/Closure_of_N… - I will post the comment there as well. Northern Luri is basically something similar to the Scots Wikipedia case again. It has been ascertained that the content of lrc.wikipedia.org is not actually written in an understandable form of Northern Luri (lrc). It is more of an attempt to present a "pure" form of the language without Persian or Arabic loanwords, which then uses Kurdish loanwords instead and results in something like a hybrid of (Northern) Luri, Laki <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laki_language>, and Kurdi (written with the Kurdish alphabet). Since this is a complete invention by User:Mogoeilor <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Mogoeilor> (and maybe some others), the wiki is incomprehensible to the general public. This is the result of consultations with linguists and native speakers. While several times during the discussions about this proposal some "experts" sent some – sometimes very unprofessional – mails to the Language Committee, saying that this project was totally legitimate and real, none of them could be confirmed to be real linguists working on Northern Luri or to even be real persons. According to the closing projects policy <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Closing_projects_policy#Decision>, I have therefore recommended the closure of this wiki, which has received no objections from other members of the Language Committee. This means that "The decision will be implemented one week after giving notice unless members of the Board, which has final authority, wish to take the matter up."- so therefore, I'm notifying you as Board liaison so that the Board can exercise its "reserve power", if it wants. Bashkir and Georgian Wikisource

Hi, Does anyone object to approving creating Wikisource domains in Georgian (ka) and Bashkir (ba)? Both languages have Wikipedias, so expert verification is not needed. And both have 100% translation for ProofreadPage and continuous localization activity. The activity in Multilingual Wikisource is up and down, but given that both languages have very active Wikipedia communities and the activity checking is a bit harder to use for Wikisource than it is for Wikipedia Incubator, I don't think that it's a big problem. I got interested and decided to study and analyze its content. I have a Ph.D in Linguistics and graduated in 2014. I have studied different languages in many fields ranging from Syntax to Phonetics and Morphology. Besides, I have lived in Lorestan since I was born.Therefore, I completely confirm the content of wikipedia for Lori , and announce that its content is not only comprehensible for me, but also for natives of Lori who were asked to read and give their opinion about it.
