Hi! Hello, everyone. I hope you are staying safe. I would like to ask for comments on the approval of Wp/bbc. It has been active since February 2020, and it has been 17 months that 3 or more editors have been active[1]. There are about 799 pages including templates. Most used core messages have already been translated[2]. The request has already been submitted[3]. I would like to ask for your opinion on the approval of this. Thank you. I think < https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikiquote_Assame…> might fulfill the requirements for approval. Activity is lasting for seven months now and the localisation is in a decent state. Pannonian Rusyn (rsk) - eligible?

Hi, There's a new request for Pannonian Rusyn, also known as Southern Ruthenian or Rusnak at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Pannon… (I gave User:Keresturec technical help with creating the page, but the request is his.) The previous one was rejected, because there already was another language called Rusyn with the code rue. There are two languages with this name, one mostly spoken in Ukraine and Slovakia, and another one spoken in Serbia and Croatia. In 2022, the new code "rsk" was approved for the one spoken in Serbia and Croatia. The PDFs here are quite interesting: https://iso639-3.sil.org/request/2021-005 They make a convincing case that: * The language is distinct, and is not a dialect of Serbian or of Carpathian Rusyn. * The language is small, but developed and active. It has stable orthography, and is used in book publishing, education, government, and daily life. I therefore recommend marking that request as eligible. Creating the Incubator in this language is also blocked by AbuseFilter. Eligibility of Thao

This concerns < https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Thao_2> and < https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wiktionary_Thao>. Thao language (ssf) has for a time been classified as extinct by SIL, but is now recognized as a living language again. See < https://iso639-3.sil.org/request/2021-028> for the change request. I propose marking both requests as eligible, for this reason.

Middle English (& repeated requests)

Here's the newest iteration of the request < https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Middle…> which I take it is obviously getting rejected. At this opportunity, I wonder whether we should implement some limitation (e.g. via Titleblacklist) against creating request no. 2, 3, 4, 5 without discussing it with Langcom first. It's a bit pointless to reject requests over and over again, just because people don't accept the policy and create a new one. Meanwhile, if for example a language was previously rejected but has now been recognized in ISO 639-3, that can be easily signalled and a new request created.
