Usually, jubilees of individual Wikipedias announced here are not as interesting to the readers as they are to the one who announces them.

Nevertheless, here's one milestone that I think is well worth being noted. It's not exactly the number of articles passed - 100 - it's rather the Wikipedia that has produced them.

I'm talking about the Waray-Waray edition which was created not even a fortnight ago. Sure, it's still a very long way to go from having 100 articles to having a full-size encyclopedia. But then again, almost half of all Wikipedias have not yet reached that mark even though they have existed for much longer then Waray-Waray.

Is there something we can learn from this example? I most definitely think so. It's the fact that neither setting up new language subdomains by the dozen nor ruling them out altogether is the right answer to the question of multilingualism. Instead - at least that's what I'm convinced of - will having a clear set of rules for new languages and as well as looking into each case individually increase Wikipedia's value even more in the future.
