Hoi, There are people who are of the opinion that we can have too many categories. As a consequence regularly categories are deleted.
This one size fits all approach is only necessary when there is no data that defines what categories are about. Thanks to Wikidata we know for an increasing number of categories what they are about and consequently we *can* make them part of what our readers may opt in or out of.
My suggestion is that we keep all categories and allow through categorisation either by using Wikidata or categories themselves to make them user selectable. Thanks, GerardM
