LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if their servers exploded if we had a prominent link them on the English Wikipedia's main page.

Note that our daily Alexa ranking has dipped into the 500s - our best daily showing ever.

Has anyone looked at the referer logs yet? I will, right now, if I can find them. :-)

I think it is because we are not listed in the "encyclopedias" category at dmoz.org, http://www.dmoz.org/Reference/Encyclopedias/
but rather
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Open_Source/Open_Content/Encyclopedias/
I have written to them about this, but you know how dmoz is, not always responsive.

A very diplomatic understatement, that.

Fred,
The last time I checked, anyone can submit a site to the ODP. I'd think I can do this. However, coming up with quality keywords is a different ballgame.

They do, but it's under "Computers > Open Source > Open Content > Encyclopedias" as opposed to just "Reference > Encyclopedias". This is the ODP's classification, not Alexa's by the way.

Because dmoz.org doesn't list Wikipedia under Reference -> Encyclopedias,
but under Computers -> Open source -> Open content -> Encyclopedias,
and Alexa uses the categorizations of dmoz.org.
There is a symbolic link (@) from Reference -> Encyclopedias -> Open Source to the category where one can find Wikipedia, but Alexa doesn't seem to follow that link.
